Thesis Statement: The creation of the Manhattan Project, the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the aftermath are events that changed the world forever.
INTRODUCTION
I. Attention Getter: Boom! Can you imagine a white light that blinds you instantly and a sonic boom that bust’s your eardrums? Probably not because if you can you probably have experienced an atomic bomb.
II. Topic: Having relatives that where in World War 2 and going over to Europe to visit World War 2 sites made myself want to learn more about this topic.

At 8:15 Hiroshima time the bomb was released it took 43 seconds to detonate above the city. 1. The bomb detonated over Shima Surgical Clinic and missed the aim point by 800 feet. 2. According to the U.S. government 70,000-80,000 people were instantly killed and 70,000 people injured. D. Also from the U.S. government 93% of their doctors were killed during the bomb as much of them were downtown. E. The Japanese did not back down and as a result a second atomic bomb was dropped on August 9, 1945. 1.
