The main character is truly a phenomenal human being: He’s a secret agent whose specialty is finagling himself out of the most impossible situations by relying on his creativity and his duct tape to save the day. He had an uncanny ability of taking everyday’s objects from his immediate surroundings and transforming them to solve problems. He could disarm a nuclear warhead using only a safety pin. Basically, he’s a universal symbol for resourcefulness, ingenuity, and creativity.
He has inspires me in many situations and aspects in life. Firstly,he is a do-er. It’s easy for people to sidestep creativity when taking on a new endeavor by quibbling over objectives. Ambiguity is uncomfortable. MacGyver uses action to work through the ambiguity. He could sit and have a discussion about his options, or create a tradeoff matrix, but he chooses to learn by doing. For example, when I read, I will practice reading it out loud to improve my vocabulary. I realize that learning practically is better than learning theoritically. Second, his resources are defined. Everytime I’m facing a problem or I can’t decide on something, I will look for an alternative way. Maybe the solution is right in front of me but I didn’t look hard enough. So, MacGyver showed that we must always have hope and always try harder everytime you fail to achieve something and if it looks like you have failed, don’t feel depressed. Just go with it because too much success may not be a good thing. Failure is a creative process, it is infact a stepping stone to produce an innovative results. Next, he has a clear goal and an imminent deadline, For MacGyver, the bomb is always ticking down. He has a defined amount of time. Failure is not an option. It’s similar to that feeling you get
