thriving. Lee's book is based upon a trial between a black and white man. In the book, the black man is accused of raping the white mans daughter. To Kill a Mockingbird was inspired by the Civil Rights movement. There is also a small family relation from Lee's family to the main family, The Finch Family, within the book. Lee claims her book is not an autobiography; however, her father was a lawyer, similar to Mr. Finch, and Lee was a tomboy and related to Scout ("What"). Lee related the characters in her book close to her family for more of a personal feeling within her writing. Therefore, her family, along with herself, inspired the book through the characters. Marajane Satrapi's book Persepolis is inspired by her life as an Iranian, and the struggle she and her family experienced during the Iranian-Iraq war as Satrapi was growing up. Satrapi was a little girl when the war between Iraq and Iran began. Satrapi wanted people to rule understand Iran as a country, and never forget the millions that died from the catastrophe (Satrapi). The war between Iraq and Iran killed millions of people and destroyed both countries. Many events took place that inspired Persepolis. In 1979, students overran the U.S embassy; on June 28, 1981 a huge explosion occurred at the headquarters of the Islamic Republican Party. Finally, by the summer of 88 the war ended. Persepolis expresses Marjane's life, culture, and (Sahimi). Satrapi's book Persepolis is her story. Her life, growing up during a war is the inspiration for Persepolis. Satrapi wanted her audience to realize what was happening in Iran and the struggle and the fear of growing up during a war. Her struggle and experiences inspired her to share her story. In The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, his book is inspired by new scientific discoveries, his decisions, and a European holiday.
In the 1970s, many scientific discoveries were being announced. The 1970s consisted of the Voyoger program system being released, along with, quantum interaction with technology and living systems. The first microprocessor was created, and the beginning of fiber optics began ("1970s"). Along with all these new discoveries in science to inspire the space aspect of the book, Adams had his own way of brainstorming ideas. The book was inspired by Adams being drunk and basing the book off a continental holiday In Europe and The Hitchhikers Guide to Europe. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was inspired by multiple scientific discovers along with a holiday and another form of literature. By Douglas being intoxicated he was able to piece the forms of inspiration together to create The Hitchhikers Guide to the
Galaxy. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Persepolis, and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, all three of the author's lives and experiences during a certain time inspired their writing. Lee was inspired by the Civil Rights movement, and the relationship between her family along with her characters. Satrapi's life was her inspiration to Persepolis. Adams created his humorous book by being intoxicated and piecing together his inspiration of new scientific discovers, literature, and a holiday to create his witty, scientific cliché. People have different ways of coping and expressing themselves as an individual or their feelings. Usually, while people write or compose they relate to personal situations, therefore their output is more meaningful. Authors write to communicate, educate and express themselves. All three forms of literature above were inspired to communicate, educate, and express a certain feeling to their audience.
