Integrity In 'Ooka And The Honest Thief'
The story “Ooka and the Honest Thief” (author unknown) takes place in Japan. A rice merchant has been getting robbed a little rice every day and asks the judge for his help. The judge finds out it is a poor laborer named Gonta. He has no job and needs to feed his family but he promised to return all he has stolen once he gets a job. So when he got a job he did return all that he stole. So in the story, the theme is integrity. The category that justifies the theme would be “quotes" and also the character's action.

First, in the story, Gonta only took the amount that he needed to feed his family even though the judge (who was pretending to be a fellow thief) gave him the whole sack of rice. He said it himself using quotes. "...Ooka

This case was based on George Tenet and the decisions he made within the CIA, successful and unsuccessful. Tenet served under the Clinton and Bush administrations from 1997-2004. During the Clinton administration, his main focus was to rebuild the CIA from its lack of morale and budget issues. Surprisingly (in my opinion because of his lack of experience), he was successful in the beginning process of rebuilding. Unfortunately for him, after Bush was elected the 9/11 attacks happened and his success started to decline. The decisions he made during the Bush administration and his lack of focus led to the demise of the DCI and the weakening of the CIA. I think his popularity during the Clinton administration got to his head and he just got sloppy during the Bush administration, but his decisions tremendously affected the way CIA is run today.…

Theme- In poetry, fiction, or drama, the theme is the dominating idea in a work (Pearson 547). In Ha Jin’s An Entrepreneur’s Story, the theme seemed to be disappointment. All throughout the story the main character thought by having money, the perfect girl, and everything that came along with it would make him happy. The outcome of the situation with Manshan, his wealth, and the mother-in-law shows him that getting what he wanted didn’t make his life turn out to be any happier than he pictured (Pearson 265).…

The theme is defined as a main idea or an underlying meaning of a literary work that may be stated directly or indirectly. In the first part of the novel “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” by Rudyard Kipling, the primary topic is courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The alternate topic is love triumphs over all. The primary reason for courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear is due to Rikki wasn’t scared for a long time when he saw Nag. The alternate reason for love triumphs over all is due to Rikki killed the snakes that tried to put the family to death and killed the eggs as well. In the exposition, we did learn that it’s is difficult for a snake to scare a mongoose. Let's see which theme is right.…

A theme is a unifying or dominant idea and clearly portrayed in this novella a few obvious themes may include defiance, rebellion, fear of the unknown and fear of death. This passage more so focuses on the theme of defiance; as they claimed "We light cigarettes against orders..". There is a higher authority that has set rules for the soldiers. This idea of the 2 soldiers disobeying the rules is a very easily targeted example of rebellion or a rebellious act. As well as the soldier spoke of not falling asleep on sentry duty and when he noticed the second soldier Fry falling…

Harris (1998) and Pinker (2002) argued that parental influences have been noticeably overstated in terms of their developmental significance upon children. Unlike many ‘traditional’ researchers whom may have considered parental influences to be fundamental to child development, many contemporary researchers, such as; Schaffer, Dunn & Fein, have began to focus their attention much more profoundly upon the developmental significance of child relationships between one another; namely their fellow peers and siblings. The theme of It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini is life is filled with problems, but you need to work through them, and learn about yourself. An example of this being the theme is while Craig is in the hospital he discovers his love for art after realizing how much he enjoys art Craig decides to go to art school instead of his original high school. By adding this the author wanted the reader to recognize Craig making concrete plans for his future. This showed that Craig learned about himself and what he enjoys doing giving him a reason to live. This reminds me of when I was younger and played club soccer. Another example of this being the theme is the end of the book when Craig continuously tells himself to live. This is significant…
