ABSTRACT
One of the most exciting applications of near field communication is the wireless network system. This paper focuses on how to use this technique to solve a huge menace in our country and that is traffic management. Wireless sensor networks will be set up in the vehicles on board communication unit in order to collect real time data on traffic and road conditions, traffic control, and real-time traffic re-routing by intelligent traffic management systems. In this paper unique features and challenges that distinguish the wireless sensor system from other traffic management systems are also discussed. One more important application discussed is the use of this system for speed control in school zones to ensure better safety for young kids!!!!
INTRODUCTION
From a few years to this part, the proliferation of equipments in roads to monitoring traffic in real time has been evident. The most common problems that we can find in roads nowadays are huge; there are fearsome traffic congestions, which make lost a lot of time, money, health and environmental quality every day. All these things have influence on the population and on the planet. Wireless sensor networks are created by vehicles equipped with short and medium range wireless communication technology. Communication is possible between vehicles within each other's radio range, and with fixed gateways along the road. These type of networks will be used in the future to collect real-time data on road conditions and traffic from a variety of onboard sensors. Some of the important applications of the
