The tactic of direct selling is one that isn’t a popular approach in sales, unless you’re part of the small division that thrives on it. Direct selling is face-to-face selling from a fixed business location and therefore, a form a nonstore retailing. There is less public awareness of most direct selling firms as they do not advertise as much as major retailers. Almost all direct sellers are independent contractors and according to a survey of district sellers conducted for the District Selling Association in 1997, a substantial amount of workers worked because they either likes and/or used the product or service themselves or because they enjoyed the social aspect of direct selling. The majority of direct selling firms are small, privately owned firms created and operated by entrepreneurs, many of whom often want a low public profile. The most popular form of one-to-one direct selling is network or multilevel marketing and is used by about 95% of all independent contractors. Direct sellers in this multilevel program are not only rewarded for the sales they personally make but the sales from the people they recruit make.…
The main benefits and opportunities of using the above are as follows. When you have a customer’s information you can work out what they might like. With this information you can send them relevant product information and special offers instead of sending everyone the same e-mails which they might get sick of and completely disregard or even choose a different business. Using the information correctly will build a relationship with the customer which in turn will build customer loyalty which is a very important benefit considering the amount of competition. Amazon is good example of a business using customer information correctly and individualisation for customer relations. They build relationships with customers by monitoring and collecting a customer’s purchase history and sending out personalised advertisements via e-mail, social media and as soon as a customer logs in tin the website. This makes it more personal.…
I can understand that companies are trying to make a profit and sell their products by using this kind of method but they need to understand that these calls can get annoying. Even face to face solicitation can aggravate some people. Yes, these individuals need to make a living and bring home a paycheck but there are other kinds of jobs that they can apply for. It aggravates me more when you have people soliciting at a business where you have a “NO SOLICITATION” sign and they still come in to interrupt you or your customers.…
When communicating the metaphors inhaling and exhaling are used to explain the receptive and expressive parts of communication (Stewart, 2009). Inhaling and exhaling takes place in both verbal and nonverbal communication. “…communicators are always both talking and listening, sending and receiving, giving off u and taking them in…” (Stewart, 2009, p. 37). Inhaling b information is a systematic process in communication that involves the complex lines of perceiving and listening. Because no two people are alike, how one perceives and listens to information when communicating not only varies depending on cultural and environmental influences, religion, etc., but how one breaks down the information from start to finish (selection, organizing, inference) can determine what information is/is not important, worldview, etc. These points can be contributing factors to drawing a specific inference.…

E-mails can be sent as a letter, memo, or as a document with an attachment. The convenience of e-mails is that the business has the option to send the message to one receiver or to multiple receivers simultaneously. The best thing about companies conducting business through e-mail is that the company will have a written record of the information being sent. E-mail also allows a company to transmit complex information fast and conveniently in a matter of minutes across the world. In a descriptive analysis of the e-mail, an individual has multiple options to design the message in which he wishes to send.…

Interpersonal Communications is one of the first online classes that I have taken and the first at San Juan College. I came to San Juan, hoping for a different and best way for me to learn that allowed me to work full time and train for my career while earning a degree and this college has made it possible for me to do so. Communications is a class that I genuinely enjoyed being a part of and I learn a lot about myself and other people from different parts of the world and cultures. One lesson that interested me the most is Chapter Twelve: Relationship with Friends.…
When following this step I think that it will keep the company on track with their customers. Another very important factor in email etiquette is Replying. When replying to a customer’s concern or general email a company should do it in a timely manner. I think that 48 hours is long enough and it makes the customer feel like you care about them. I had a very important question about a warranty and the company took two weeks to reply, let’s just say I will never buy anything else from them. Response time is very big when dealing with customers. If your company is able to deal professionally with email, this will provide your company with that all important competitive edge. Moreover by educating employees as to what can and cannot be said in an email, you can protect your company from awkward liability issues. Make sure you staff is fully trained and this will cut down on customer complaints a lot. The use of emotioncons and other lingo can have a negative impact on your business as well these should only be used for personal emails and not business ones.…
