In McCoy’s article, “Dear Grads: Don't Do What You Love,” he says, “‘Do what you love’ is an important message, but it’s unwise to build a career on the notion that we should all be paid for our passions” (McCoy 466). The point here is that we all have passions, but many of these passions simply cannot be turned into careers. Therefore it is bad advice to tell a college to do what they love because many passions are virtually impossible to turn into a career. It is important to keep “hobbies” separate from your career. Meaning that it is great to have hobbies and to do things that you love, but these things can’t always be turned into careers (Haden 463). Many students are told time and time again to do what they love, so these students attempt to make a career out of something that just isn't possible. Therefore, the advice, “Do what you love” is not always the best advice for every single college…

Hobby is described as a regular activity that is done for pleasure. Common misconceptions about hobbies are that some think that hobbies or recreations are just for people who live a relaxed life or people who have been retired and have time on their hands, while others believe that hobbies are just a waste of time. On the other hand, people with full, busy, even stressful lives can benefit from hobbies just as much if not more than the average person.…

It is therefore important for a taxpayer to consider their intensions before being able to get into an activity and make any commitments in terms of investments. It is their intensions that will differentiate whether such an engagement will be considered as a hobby or business. A tax payer should be at a position to make a sound decision based on the ATO guidelines, that in order to qualify an activity as a business, the investor should have been driven by a profit motive, that from such an investment he/she expects to profit out of the investment or profits are expected at a later date in future. In certain situations where the taxpayers activity is sustained by activities in the same industry which therefore puts the investor in a position to make a justifiable amount of profit the activity is disqualified from being a…

Self-interest serves to better my life. It encompasses both hobbies and passions. Hobbies are relaxing and promote self-enjoyment. Therefore, I work hard and endure the days of unpleasant chores because I am motivated to participate in my hobbies like racing sailboats and driving cars. Bettering my life through self-enjoyment allows me to contribute in a more affective way to society. A person who has spent a weekend participating in their hobbies and passions will be much more relaxed than someone who has been working without any self-satisfaction. A relaxed person is a more productive person and productive people tend to give of themselves in society.…

Such hobbies were ones that involved the arts and the exposure with writing. In European countries such as Italy and France, the renaissance was already active and present. However, in places such as England, the English people had yet to be affected and influenced by their lively European neighbors. Evidently, the changes that came out of the English renaissance era did not happen overnight, it did take some time - at least a centuries worth, to be exact. And when that change did happen, the people of England, though new to the creative scene of the renaissance, were ready, and they were not willing to back away anytime sooner.…
