Interstellar puts the audience right in the center of the universe with seamless CGI which has never been done before in a film. In particular, the computer generated depiction of the black hole that Joe Cooper travels through, not to mention what he finds on the other side of that black hole. In fact, these effects were done so well that they visually conveyed to the audience an extremely convincing representation of something that has never even been seen before with the naked human eye. It is safe to say that Interstellar is an artistic masterpiece in it’s own right. On the other hand, The Martian’s special effects were neat but not nearly as impressive. The visuals of alien terrain and extraneous subject matter were created very well. These special effects were clean and crisp considering most of it was CGI. I found myself riveted during the scene where Mark Watney had re-entered his space station on Mars and there was a malfunction within the airlock system upon entry, resulting in a devastating explosion. Therefore, The Martian contains extremely credible special effects, but because the content of the movie is limited, the special effects were just as
