2.1 Introduction
In the concrete industry, there are large amounts of concrete being produced
around world. The quantity demand will reach $105.2 billion by the year 2015 in the world market for readymix concrete (Global Industry Analysis, 2014). Hence concrete quality becomes more and more important, because it refers to the quality of building construction and the capital usage efficiency of company. Furthermore, product quality is always a core competitiveness in a company. This purpose of this chapter is to illustrate the background about concrete industry around the world, and argue that the concrete field has existing current issues which need to be improved.
This essay demonstrates the control process of making concrete, including three main segments. The first part is the concrete producing process. The second part is transport aspects. The third part is about academic skill restriction. On the face of it, the details of concrete product process consist of two steps, such as Machine operation and raw material preparation. On the other side, delivery process is divided into three sections. Firstly, the checklist workload before the concrete mixer trucks leaving the plant. Secondly, diverse matters in response to staff need attention when the concrete mixer trucks are in transit. The last section is some restrictions for the concrete when the trucks reach to the designated area. For academic skill control, the responsibility of laboratory department is the core in this
step. This chapter is vital for readers to make a clear understanding about concrete industry and the previous thesis have been posed. The aim of this project is to seek many effective factors influencing the quality of concrete from production to delivery, and to analyze each step in detail during the concrete
