Yes, last week was really difficult for me! I'm pursuing my degree in nursing through Arizona College and doing my prerequests through Keiser University, so I was able to take advantage of the free tutoring available at Arizona College. I put my kids in daycare for the week and I was at the Arizona College campus from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. studying and being tutored. I feel that I understand the concepts that we are studying each week, however the math portion is what I'm having a hard time with since I havent taken a math class in about ten years. I feel that I'm able to do the problems but they are taking me a long time to complete and since the time frame for the test is fifty minutes I run out of time and I'm left guessing on some of the…
My former English professor would always say “find a way 101”, whenever a student found themselves struggling in her class. At first I did not understand why she was so rude to her students, this was until after I graduated high school when I realized I was wrong. She was not rude, she was not mean, she was preparing her students for college level English classes. Reflecting on my past encounter with the toughest teacher at my former high school, I can say I feel prepared for a college level class. Although I may have taken the most rigorous class in high school, that does not mean I am expected to pass without falling short. However, I am certain that I am ready for the challenges that my professor will assign me in the fall.…
To be completely honest, this class has I think taught me more than most all my other classes, I’m not sure if it’s because I found the material interesting, or that I really liked your teaching methods. I think the most significant thing I have taken away from this class has been the use of Access and how to create a database. As difficult as it was, in the end I came out with a lot of useful information and skills that are now helping me at my current job.…
For this class, RDG 537: Curriculum Constr. and Assessment: Reading and Language Arts, I had the opportunity to not only observe but teach a lesson that I created for Mrs. Watson’s Class at Little Rascals Daycare and Afterschool Program. The first week lesson was focused on the historical development of the Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) role and evidence-based practice from the perspective of various philosophical and theoretical foundations. In which I have learned about various roles and responsibilities of APN. As the scope of practice for APN is vary from state, I have explored the role and scope of practice of Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Texas. The second week lesson was focused on the complexity theory and selected skills, understandings, and integrative abilities of the APN and specialty nurse practitioner practice. In which I have learned about the APN’s leadership role in healthcare policy to facilitate best practices for diverse populations. It is important for APN…
Since embarking on this course, I have developed an understanding of the notion of critical reflection, in particular understanding how I have impacted upon a situation (Fook and Gardner, 2007:p27) through the unique perspectives and values which I bring to it. Understanding the diversity amongst service users and the complexity of applying theoretical knowledge to practice, has helped me to appreciate the processes involved in reflection and to make sense of my difficulties in past experience to apply my knowledge across different contexts. I have also gained an understanding of how my personality type can impact on my reflective practice. For example, as an introvert this could make the process of reflection with others more difficult, a…

I found a lot of it very interesting and helpful for the field of study I wish to do once finished with school it also opened my eyes to other fields in criminal justice that I may want to do instead of what I have had in mind.…
The teacher’s role was to provide a safe and learning environment, encourage students to try to perform to the best of their abilities and facilitate the structure of the curriculum to meet the needs of the students and grade level standards. I could tell she is very supportive to all her students and serve as a motivator because she is always encouraging them to do better and never give up. She also shared a story about her childhood…
Teaching experience at this point in my career is exclusive to Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS). I have been a part of the teaching team for the BLS courses at my place of work for seven years. The BLS courses are taught in a classroom setting with manikins and provider manual based on American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. The courses are provided all healthcare providers within the institution and provide an easy and effective avenue to obtain their BLS recertification or certification. The focus of training is on high-quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) which includes 1 and 2-person rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child, and infant. AHA guidelines require BLS renewal every two years, I teach once course…
