CCIB Intake received a call from a concerned parent named Maria (925) 202-9014 who disclosed that on Tuesday, June 7 the facility was having an air conditioner installed. During the installation the air conditioner the contracted propped opened a door. This allowed the unidentified male to enter the facility. The man was escorted out of the facility and the police were notified. According to the RP the unidentified man had been roaming through the neighborhood and appeared to be on drugs. The RP disclosed that the man was arrested earlier for his itinerant behaviors and later released. CCIB Intake received referral 1665-2784-6232-4050188 dated 10/12/16 from reporting party regarding resident Cera J. White age 17 DOB: 1/17/99 who went AWOL on 10/7/16 with her son Jake M. White age 1 DOB: 5/1/15. Another female resident AWOL’d from the group home and was observed being picked up by the same male and car who picked up Cera. It was reported Cera consistently AWOL’s from the facility and is a flight risk. The facility received information regarding Cera and her friend’s social media accounts. Both residents have been posting about “the life” (slang for prostituting) on their social media. There were not advertising their services. Cera and Jake returned to the facility on Monday, October 10 at approximately 10:30PM. Jake was returned with no report of neglect. According to the RP law enforcement is involved in the situation.…

Woodall’s background and getting to know him a little bit, I began to direct my questions more towards the MD/DO debate. I first asked him if he had ever considered attending a school of osteopathic medicine rather than a traditional medical school. Evidently, the thought had never even crossed his mind, simply because DO schools hardly existed at the time (Woodall)! Perhaps that most important piece of information that he told me regarding osteopathic doctors with whom he has worked is that “patients and or other colleagues will not know the difference” (Woodall) between them and medical doctors! I found this to be an extraordinary claim, but he went on to say that he personally has worked with DOs whom he assumed to be MDs while working with them until ex post facto when he happened to learn more about them and their backgrounds. I think that this singular claim largely answers a good portion of my question about the issue. In the experiences that I’ve had during the clinical practicum immersion, Seema found out that the health care center where she worked lacked this practice of Intraprofessional collaboration. Nurses, doctors, and physicians work in the same field which makes it important for them to collaborate amongst one another and cooperate to provide the patients with effective treatment by the collective skills that they have (NCBI, 2015). 93 senior-level ATSs and 33 students, those with major changes were involved in order to gain an understanding of the effect of clinical education placement on integration. Students that had taken part in the research completed an average of four ± 2 clinical education rotations, for 545 clinical rotations, those that were not formally admitted into the athletic training profession were not included in this study. The purpose of the clinical integration scale is to evaluate a student’s level achieved in each of their clinical rotations. The scale uses 11 items that assess aspects of the clinical experience that contribute to overall integration into clinical education. Items were scored on a 6-point Likert scale (one = strongly disagree; two = disagree; three = slightly disagree; four = slightly agree; five = agree; six = strongly agree). Thirteen out of eighteen program directors agreed to do the study. Once the study was approved by the program directors, a researcher traveled to five different institutions and gave the survey to senior-level students; all surveys were completed and collected by the researcher. At the placement I observed everyday procedures from first consultations with patients, through to dealing with minor problems such as cutting toes, removing hard skin and the diagnosis of conditions and provision of treatments. One example was orthotics, such as moulded toe separators, as one of the patients first toe overlapped the second and I learnt that separators would help that patient to reduce discomfort and swelling of the foot. While witnessing the treatments the Podiatrist took the time to clarify the tools used and gave an explanation as to how the procedures were conducted, giving treatments to patients in the meantime. This has given me knowledge about a variety of issues and an understanding of how to treat them. One condition I came across was a woman who had a stroke, this led to her developing hammer toes on one foot, and this would also cause other problems such as corns and calluses that were dealt with by the…
The community I grew up in deep in the heart of Austin, Texas celebrated my heritage, honored differences in culture, and fostered personal growth and self-discovery. My parents, with the strong work ethic they developed on their family’s farms in Ghana, encouraged my brother and me to work hard and find ways to use my skills to be of service to others. In this chapter the author discusses the importance of inviting participation from the team. The author also encourages the reader to notice how others perceive them and to spend some time walking in their teammates shoes. I believe this motto involves the entire team, is a constant work in progress, and when utilized well; gives us integral working knowledge of what we must do. It is exemplified when our dietician, who is also our Anemia Manager, asks the clinicians what might have caused a patients Hematocrit to drop; when our facility administrator asks us how we want to split our patient caseload and then helps us when we are short staffed; and when our nurses ask the Patient Care Technicians how their day is going and willingly lend a hand with patient care. The ability to deliver the most sensitive and responsive health care, based on the individual needs of the patient, requires a cohesive and collaborative approach. “Interdisciplinary care, although not denying the importance of specific skills, seeks to blur the professional boundaries and requires trust, tolerance, and a willingness to share responsibility.” In modern medicine there is an increased focus on the biopyschosocial needs of the patient particularly within general practice.
