Iphone Cons
Con #1: Distraction
* My first con is that cellphones are a distraction. Students use them for non- learning purposes such as social media and games. It causes them not to focus on learning and it makes it harder for the teacher to do it's job.

Con #2: Costly
* My second con is that cellphones are costly to buy and repair. An Apple iPhone 6 with 32GB of memory costs $600 and would cost $169 to repair the screen if it is out of warranty. It would approximately costs $400 for other damages.

In what follows, we will present a qualitative comparison of the Apple IPhone to the Blackberry Storm. Blackberry has been around the game longer than the IPhone has been out, but Apple took a bigger leap in business introducing the IPhone. The IPhone was a big target to put Blackberry down; the IPhone with a 3.5 inch screen, 640 x 960 pixels resolution and capacitive, multi touch screen was no match for Blackberry’s 3.25 inch display, 360 x 480 pixels, and only a capacitive touchscreen. The IPhone one upped the classy Blackberry Storm in every category that is out there. Being a both RIM Blackberry user and a current Iphone user, I must say that there is a big difference switching devices. Blackberry demographics are to business men, while the Iphone is also to business but also traits for kids. The pros of the IPhone are its sleek creative design, fast response, App world, camera in front of the phone, and better memory. Cons of the IPhone are the battery life doesn’t last so long when talking on phone and using a lot of applications. Blackberry Bold has a great battery life, but for a kid is pretty boring. Twitter, Facebook, text, and phone calls are mostly the only thing you can do while operating a Blackberry.…

The second reason that students shouldn't be allowed to use cell phones in school for education is for the sake of the teachers, a teacher should not have to fight for the attention of his or her students due to technology. After twenty years of teaching history and ESL for Lowell High School, Miriam Morgenstern is quitting her job for multiple reasons. One of Morgenstern’s reasons for quitting is her students and their cell phones, she explains her frustration, “The texting, tweeting, and snapchatting during class time are ‘an incredible distraction, and makes it much more difficult to teach,’ she said. ‘It’s pretty hard to compete with a very funny YouTube video.’” It is unacceptable that students are using their phones while the teacher…

According to the YouTube video "Cell Phones in School", it states how having internet at the fingertips of students, it can bring the curriculum further and more in depth than the textbooks allow. When performing an experiment, videos can be taken to record the experiment to be watched again, or even slowed down to better see the outcome. Moreover, the timer application can be used to keep time for activities and experiments, and the calculator is there to do the quick math, when…

A cell phone can produce many distractions in the classroom. Loud ringtones and musical noises can easily cause a huge disturbance by calls, notifications, games, or text messages. If allowed, students would take full advantage of the use of their cell phones. Students could answer phone calls or reply to text messages at any given time during class. With today’s technology, the everyday cell phone has actually been transformed into a miniature computer. Now these cellular devices come with many more sources of entertainment along with internet capabilities. The capability of downloading games and applications would become more of a worry for the students than learning the lesson that class is providing that day. With all of these distractions a cell phone provides, any lesson would turn into hell for both the teacher and the students who actually intend to do something.…

Another reason cell phones should not be banned in classrooms is because students can use them as a reminder or planner. Generally, cell phones have a calendar built in the device. In my biology class, I have a unit 5 test, unit portfolio assessment and a lab report due all on different days; I used my calendar app in my cell phone to be a reminder. Therefore, cell phones can remind me that I have assignments and tests coming up. This shows that a cell phone can benefit students in the classrooms.…
