Indian Cricket League (ICL)

The Indian Cricket League (ICL), is a private cricket league that runs parallel to the Indian Premier League (IPL) managed by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Zee Telefilms, part of the Essel group promoted by Subhash Chandra, has started The ICL along with major infrastructure group IL&FS.

HISTORY (ICL)

Zee Telefilms, had bid for the telecast rights to the 2003 Cricket World Cup. Although the highest bid, it was unsuccessful. In 2004, Subhash Chandra again bid for telecast rights and ended up in an inconclusive court battle. He made another bid for the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy rights and once again lost. He responded by creating the ICL. Zee Telefilms announced that it would partner with infrastructure group IL&FS to create a new, ambitious cricket organisation, the Indian Cricket League. with prize money of one million US dollars in the initial edition for the winning team.

The Indian Premier League (also known as the "DLF Indian Premier League" and often abbreviated as IPL), is a Twenty20 cricket competition created by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and chaired by the Chairman & Commissioner IPL, BCCI Vice President Lalit Modi. It was started To compete the rival ICL.

The 2008 Indian Premier League season was the debut season of the Indian Premier League, established by the BCCI in 2007. The season commenced on the 18 April 2008 with the final match held on 1 June 2008.

Both IPL and ICL had Controversies. CHEER LEADERS. IPL had controversies with different Cricket boards from the world. Conflicts with the England and Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, Pakistan Cricket Board, Cricket Club of India and smaller clubs like WICB and NZCB
