Is Macbeth A True Hero
Throughout the play The Tragedy of Macbeth written by William Shakespeare one character rose above all to be the true hero. This character was not simply out for revenge on Macbeth but he had a good and holy purpose while trying to make things right. The true hero of the play is without a doubt Macduff, Thane of Fife. He had many obstacles to overcome but he pulled through in the end to stay faithful and loyal to his country.
Macduff received news that his wife and children had been murdered. He decided to fight like a man to get revenge on Macbeth (Act IV, scene 3). Macduff reacting the way he did showed that he was a true hero. The biggest difference between Macbeth and Macduff was the reason they killed. Macbeth had killed King Duncan

“To beguile the time, / Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye, / Your hand, your tongue; look like th' innocent flower, But be the serpent under't” (1.5.63-66). British playwright William Shakespeare wrote The Tragedy of Macbeth in 1606. The play is about the downfall of a hero. In this play one of the main characters, Lady Macbeth, is shown as a strong character. Some believe she is even a stronger character than her husband, Macbeth. However, I do not perceive the characters of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth in this way. I view Lady Macbeth as weaker than her husband due to her: lack to admit when she is wrong, inability to back up her words, and her cowardliness.…

He would do whatever he had to do to get his way, and he didn’t care how it affected people around him. Macduff was different. He was very loyal to his country. He put the country and his people first. He was always willing to help and do the right thing. He wanted to please everyone. Macbeth became impatient for power. He wanted to be king and he was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen. He never felt bad when he treated people badly either. He was very influenced by others, and he didn’t always think things through. Macduff did not want Macbeth to be king. He was patient and willing to take his time to plan ways to keep Macbeth from being king. Macbeth was a deceitful, hypocritical, and treacherous King. He wasn’t a good man. Macduff was straightforward, respectful, and honest. He was a better man. Macbeth would stop at nothing to get his way and he didn’t feel bad about it. Macduff was a better person and had a conscience, and when he killed Macbeth, he felt like he had done the right thing for the people.…
