Is Mini Skirt still in fashion? Today we are in the 21st century in an era where the fashion is at its peak. The fashion industry has developed so fast during the last decade. This is mainly due to the development of technology. The Mini Skirt emerged during the late 1950 & was very popular between 1950 to 1970
20th century can be named as the era where there was a significant development of the fashion industry. During this century the world experienced two world wars and this itself brought immense economic and social restrictions in the world. The world wars were one of the major factors for the industrial boom during this era and during this period women acquired improved economic status and the vote. The life span of humans increased due to the advancement of medicine. Development of communication & travel has made the world small. The advancement of technology was the most significant factor for the development of fashion.
Let us see what this mini skirt is. As the name implies a miniskirt can be defined as a skirt which is very short with a hemline well above the knee level. In general a miniskirt is about 12 inches to 15 inches in height. A Micro Miniskirt is also a type of a mini skirt which is even shorter than a Miniskirt.
During this era talent was a main requirment for success. For the first time ever in any fashion era, the young generation became the leaders of fashion. They introduced lot of new and radically innovative fashion styles, with little girl woman unisex looks for women that swept away the sophisticated sweater girls of the early sixties.
The mini-skirt was created by an English seamstress, Mary Quant. When Mary was a child, she never had a liking for the boring, straight laced heavy clothes worn by

After the corset a corset cover would be added this added a layer of protection for the clothes. Next petticoats were added, a proper lady would have a minimum of six petticoats.
