Poodle skirts were a big hit in the 1950s because they were an easy and fashionable way for the young women to dress.
Automobiles
Since the development of the automobile they have been in demand by people for ages and in the 1950s the automobiles basically ran the economy.
Drive-in theaters
Allowed for the young and old generation to go to a spot and hang out with friends and family, while watching movies that were being shown. A Known hang out in the 1950s
Dr. Spock
Not sure if this relates to star trek or not, but when I looked up information about this I got a baby doctor in the results.
I Love Lucy
The most popular sitcom in the 1950s, taught people a lot in each episode and was a great way to spend time with family by watching it.
Dishwashers
Made cleaning the dishes easier and allowed for the wives and moms to help children with school and also spend more time with family.
Elvis Presley
Famous rock and roll singer who rose from poverty and became known as the King of Rock and Roll. Was a big and well known singer in the 1950s.
James Dean
He was a famous and very popular actor in the 1950s, most notably for the movie Rebel without a Cause.
Interstate Highways
Allowed for people to travel great distances in practically a straight path, and was demanded by the people since the creation of automobiles.
Levittown
The first known suburban town created, helped people with making the change form country life to city life.
