Today’s parents have many options for their children’s education. The pros and cons of homeschooling add up in so many directions. In my research, one of the biggest questions was can homeschooling curriculum match up with examinations and accreditation of public or private schools? The issue is can a parent be qualified enough to train their children on their own without being a professional teacher. Children deserve the best schooling possible because school prepares children for their in life and education is needed to succeed in the life of the world of work. The stress for parents could end up harming their children more because they have to prepare lessons for every subject and if the child starts to struggle, they could end up putting…
Homeschooling is a method of teaching that has grown within the past decade. It has been reported, “In 1999 the percentage of school-age children who were being homeschooled increased from 1.7 percent to 2.9 percent in 2007” (National Center for Education Statistics). Deciding to home school your child can be a rewarding experience. Some of the benefits of being homeschooled are, one-on-one instruction, setting your own schedule, healthier food choices, safety, good morals, freedom of religion, and a lower risk of peer pressure.…

Homeschooling is not for every child, some students learn better in a group environment where they learn the social skills necessary to succeed academically. Just because one thing is good for a certain child does not mean it is beneficial to another. All children have different learning styles specific to their personality. Some children need one-on-one attention to be able to comprehend academics to the best of their ability, and other students can learn in a group. It all depends on the child which education is best for them. “Learn how your children are being tested for their values instead of their knowledge.”(p647)…
In the United States over 2 million people are being homeschooled. This equates to 3.5% of the total amount of currently enrolled students. The number of homeschooled students rises every year at a surprising rate. There are a couple of reasons why parents are turning to homeschooling for their kid’s education. They believe that they can offer better education than public schools and have a better social environment than public school students, and I fully agree with these reasons.…

We 're all familiar with the popular images of homeschoolers in America: Extreme fundamentalist families shutting out all other points of view. These stereotypes are touted freely by the popular media and conventional schooling experts alike. But they have little to do with the realities of homeschooling for most families today, and are rarely backed by factual data. The average home-schooled student scored “81 points higher on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) than did the general population in 2000”. (Winters) At the National Spelling Bee in 2000, the top three winners were home-schooled. Studies show that, “home-schooled children also tend to score higher on basic skills testing than do public school children”. (Winters) According to the Wall Street Journal, “Evidence is mounting that homeschooling, once confined to the political and religious fringe, has achieved results not only on par with public education, but in some ways surpassing it.” (Reider) However, one subject continues to surface whenever the issue of home schooling arises. Public school administrators, teachers, and parents are all concerned about whether home schooling can be considered a good process of education. Therefore, I intend to prove that home-schooled children are properly socialized, fully educated and college admissions increasing acceptance rates of home schooled applicants prove that they’re prepared for the next level of education.…
Homeschooling has historically been the primary method for educating the average citizen. Before Western civilization began to emphasize the need for education of the general populace, children were most often taught by their parents, grandparents, or relatives with useful knowledge. In fact, the modern idea of formal education was usually reserved for the elite members of society who could pay the hefty price for a private tutor. Now, quality education is readily available to nearly every member of Western society. However, some parents have turned back to the practice of educating their children out of the comfort of their own home. This practice is known as “homeschooling.”…
As Yoshino explains, the decision of whether or not to come out as homosexual, bisexual, genderqueer, or even transgender isn’t just driven by the individual’s desire to openly be who he or she really is, but also by the negative attitude of society, which can range from physical violence to threats, and in many cases, even death (Yoshino, 57). However, in the movie Boys Don’t Cry, Kimberly Peirce shows that in spite of all the social stigmas that are related to coming out, there are people with a positive attitude, like Lana, who accept and love individuals who belong to the LGBTQ community, and who strive to make them feel more included in society (Boys Don’t Cry).…

First, I will discuss how the tests take up too much class time. Kids spend 20 to 25 hours a year or 2.3% of the class time on the test. That doesn't include that preparing for the test. 20 to 25 hours is basically one day that the kids could of been learning but they aren’t there taking tests. From Pre Kindergarten to 12th grade they take about 112 tests. That’s about 9 tests per year that they have to take not including the tests that they take not including the tests that they take to see if there learning. In this paragraph I have discussed that tests take up too much class time.…
However, the basic subjects should not be taught in a public school. It is likely that is private schools did not cost money, a lot of students would be attending them instead. However, for some students, it is not an option. One similarity between the two however is that they both expect their students to stay in school for seven hours, then do sometimes hours of homework, continue to maintain their social life and take care of themselves. Not surprisingly, this leaves little room for much else that students enjoy doing.…
i. According to Dr. Brian Ray (2011), students who are homeschooled score 15 to 30 percentile points above public-school students on standardized academic achievement tests.…

An apocryphal legend holds that the inspiration for "The Cask of Amontillado" came from a story Poe had heard at Castle Island (South Boston), Massachusetts, when he was a private there in 1827. According to this legend, while stationed at Castle Island in 1827 he saw a monument to Lieutenant Robert Massie. Massie had been killed in a sword duel on Christmas Day 1817 by Lieutenant Gustavus Drane, following a dispute during a card game. According to the legend, other soldiers then took revenge on Drane by getting him drunk, luring him into the dungeon, chaining him to a wall, and sealing him in a vault (though the last part is untrue, as Drane was courtmartialled and acquitted, living until 1846). A report of a skeleton discovered on the island may be a confused remembering of Poe's major source, Joel Headley's "A Man Built in a Wall" (1844), which recounts the author's seeing an immured skeleton in the wall of a church in Italy. Headley's story includes details very similar to "The Cask of Amontillado"; in addition to walling an enemy into a hidden niche, the story details the careful placement of the bricks, the motive of revenge, and the victim's agonized moaning. Poe may have also seen similar themes in Honoré de Balzac's "Le Grande Bretêche" (Democratic Review, November 1843) or his friend George Lippard'sThe Quaker City; or The Monks of Monk Hall (1845). Poe may have borrowed Montresor's family motto Nemo me impune lacessit from James Fenimore Cooper, who used the line in The Last of the Mohicans (1826).…
