Many people have a very tough time understanding and relating. Teenagers don't fall in love one day then decide to get married the next. It's very unusual, especially for teenagers now because, you can only get married if your a certain age, and that is what everyone today is a custom to. Friar Lawrence was the adult that told Romeo that him and Juliet were too young for marriage.
People today all ages sometimes tend to be over dramatic and make small comments. But one that is very popular today and in the play is basically "I'm going to kill myself". When friar told Juliet that Paris wanted to marry her the next day to come, her response was “Unless thou tell me how I may prevent it: If, in thy wisdom, thou canst give no help, Do thou but call my resolution wise, And with this knife I'll help it presently.” Juliet said she was going to kill herself before she ever has to marry Paris.
In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet is not realistic today. We are not used to their way of doing things. It's unusual for us now in 2017. If a book from 2016-17 was given to Shakespeare, the big question is, would he understand
