True Love In Romeo And Juliet
True love takes time to form. Romeo and Juliet is about two starcrossed lovers. This amazing play was made by the author William Shakespeare. The big issue is that the families from Romeo and Juliet are enemies and they hate each other, so they wouldn't approve of them being together, nevertheless to get married. The thing is the day they meet, they both think they’re in love. You cannot fall in love in 10 minutes.
The first time Romeo and Juliet met, they talked and saw each other for 5 minutes. In act 1 scene 5, it shows how little they talked. “Come hither, nurse. What is yond gentleman?” This is Juliet asking who Romeo is. She doesn’t even know his name yet she thinks she’s in love. Romeo too didn’t know that she was even a Capulet. How
can you love someone who’s name you do not know? How do you even love someone who you’ve talked to for such little time. I spent more time unravelling my earbuds than they spent talking. So with all this information proving my point, Romeo and Juliet are not in love.
Now let us not forget the actual reason Romeo went to the Capulet party. He went to the party to see another girl, not Juliet but Rosaline. He had been crying a long time because he “loved” Rosaline but she didn’t love him back. In act 1 scene 1 in lines 155 - 160 Benvolio is asking Romeo why he’s so sad and he responds by saying that the girl he loves doesn’t love him back. It clearly says he loves her. So he went into that party loving one girl and came out loving another. How can you switch love so rapidly? Romeo was just looking for someone who would give him affection.
