Unit 1 Assignment 1
The Johnson Company is a small business that provides networking components and services. They are in need of new methods of communication for reaching out to new customers, standing out from other businesses, meeting existing customer needs, and keeping customers informed of news and updates. The Johnson Company still uses analog phone lines and still takes customer orders by hand. Their only current method of advertising is an ad in the yellow pages. They have reached out to our IT consulting firm to help them update their current business processes and communications Setting up an intranet site is one of the best ways for small businesses to keep all their workers in the loop and communicate new information. The Johnson Company can also use Microsoft SharePoint application and services to set up internal websites designed for specific projects. Providing customers with a website capable of taking online orders while advertising online as well would give the customers ease of access and efficiency. Project managers can also use these specialized websites to share documents and information, and this can help the projects run more smoothly and effectively.
Email is one of the most widely used forms of technological business communication. Instant messaging services such as Skype and Go To Meeting are very up and coming and can provide better communications even more than email. Online advertising, forums, blogs, as well as some possible radio ads may also increase clientele. The Johnson Company would do well with a small business package from a local internet service provider such as Comcast that has enough bandwidth to support the network. The Johnson Company would find that switching from analog to digital communications could significantly increase work productivity and business functions in their small business. Using unified communications such as desktops, laptops, printers and scanners connected to the internet would make invoicing and shipping times decrease while customer support and operations would increase. Data can be more easily organized and accessible for the Johnson Company, and they will also be able to expand their clientele by generating orders to other online users.

In all, Figure 4 shows a calculation of 64% accuracy rate for correct answers given in his small reading group. I could tell that Michael felt like he was on a roll, and he made a surprising request that none of his peers groaned about. “Can we finish by ourselves?” The teacher gave consent for the class to finish independently, and they did. As an added bonus, the reading specialist shared an entire sheet of heart stickers made by her husband to celebrate Valentine’s Day early. Michael happily received his reward while trying to estimate the total stickers on the sheet (see Figure 5). When he saw the red heart, he stated, “I don’t want the heart to camouflage on my red sweater.” Therefore, Michael placed the heart on his white collar (see Figure 6).…

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) was passed in 1996. The main purpose of this law was to improve the flow of health information. At this time, the great majority of the records were still in paper form, however there was a push for the healthcare industry to become digital. Prior to 1996, the only federal law that regulated the privacy of health information was the Privacy Act of 1974. Between 2003 and 2005, there were more than 13,000 privacy complaints, but no civil enforcement actions were brought by the HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR). In that same period, there was only one HIPAA criminal action, against a lab assistant who used the personal data of a terminal cancer patient for identity theft. By 2008, 33,000 + complaints had been filed with OCR, only about 8,000 were investigated with 5,600 leading to corrective action, yet no fines had been issued. Several key dates for HIPAA since then are: February 17, 2009- ARRAs HITECH Act Signed into Law. HIPAA revised to strengthen enforcement penalties, require breach notifications, and expand patient rights 2009OCR increases HIPAA Enforcement January 25, 2013- HITECHs HIPAA Modification Final Rule Release There is no single part of the HIPAA complaint form that should be singled out for attention, other than simplifying the form completion instructions. In the situation where every instructor Brandon ford Mr. Redmond 1-14-2015 IS3350 and all associated staff had access to the students health care records, Premier College is in direct violation of HIPAA.…
