Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis was born July 28,1929 in Southampton,New York.Her father,John,after coming to the U.S. From France he became a stockbroker in the 1800s.Her mother, Janet, had relatives from Ireland and England. Jacqueline loved reading. Before she even started school she has finished reading all the books in her bookshelves. When Jackie was finished in kindergarten she started first grade at Miss Chapin’s school on East End Avenue in New York.One of Jackie’s teachers,Miss Platt,Jackie was ‘‘a darling child,prettiest little girl, very clever, very artistic, and full of the devil.’’ 11 year old Jackie won a National Junior horsemanship competition in the year of 1940.Jackie was very rich which allowed her to enjoy ballet lessons at Metropolitan
Opera House and French lessons beginning at the age of 12. When Jackie was 10 her mom and dad got divorced.It was a hard time for her because,a very few kids had divorced parents at that time.She came from a catholic family but,catholic churches disapproved of divorces.Jacqueline was about to turn thirteen when when her mother had married a business man named Hugh Auchincoss who had children form his other marriage.Besides her younger sister,Lee, Jackie now had two step brothers and one sister named Yusha,Tommy and Nina. Jackie had always been a private person, but now Jackie became even quieter keeping all of her thoughts. After graduating Miss Porter's school Jackie got a scholarship to Vassar University in New York to study history, literature, art, and french. She spent her junior year studying in Paris. Jackie traveled with the President And alone,‘ ‘ her deep knowledge of foreign cultures and language ( she spoke fluent French, Spanish, and Italian) which which help their with America.‘ ‘On November 22, 1963, Kennedy was riding alongside the President Lincoln continental convertible Before cheering crowds in Dallas, Texas, when he was shot and killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, windowing Kennedy at the age of 34.’’Jackie’s bloodstained pink suit became the symbol of national mourning. 5 years later after John F. Kennedy died, Jackie married a Greek magnet named Aristotle Onassis and Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.However,he died in 1975 7 year later leaving Onassis a widow for a second time. After Aristotle’s death she returned to her career that had been on paused.‘ ‘She went to work as a editor at Viking Press In New York City and moved to Doubleday.Where she served as a senior editor.’’Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis died on May 19th, 1994 when she was 64 years old.
