his years of being in this position he had a big part in getting the Bill of Rights ratified which finally happened in 1791. From 1777 to 1779 James was Virginia’s governor council of state where supported many documents such as the Virginia Declaration of Rights. Once Madison graduating from Princeton he had taken the military route and was the colonel of the Orange County militia in which he led in the American Revolutionary War. While James Madison was president he had directed the US into the war of 1812, this war mostly escalated due to the economic actions done by the French and British, American ships being stopped so that they couldn’t trade or give products and materials to their foe, so due to this Madison supported the idea of the Embargo Act of 1807 which made american ships unavailable to export materials to foreign land.
James Madison had contributed to the Constitution in many ways, one major contribution was him being one of the individuals who drafted the constitution which is the reason why they named him “Father of Constitution”, years before the constitution of the United States was even brought up he had created the constitution and bill of rights of Virginia which had led to the making of the US Constitution that we know today. At the constitutional convention, Madison was the general recorder basically a note taker using his journal, but before he gave any ideas and any inputs he lasted large amount of time improving his information so that their wouldn’t be any errors on the constitution that will harm his status in any way
