The history of basketball is the most interesting thing. James Naismith was the inventor and it was invented in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The game of basketball grew very quickly and finally became very popular in the 20th century. Basketball got popular in America and eventually spread throughout the world. As it progressed through colleges, it eventually became a pro sport in 1946. What is the origin of basketball and how did it begin? Who created the National Basketball Association? James Naismith was asked to make up a game that did not involve people getting injured. So he decided to take a peach basket and you had to put the soccer ball in the basket without letting the other team stop you. James Naismith knew that if he put the basket on the floor people would have a better chance of getting injured, this is why he decided to put it high on the wall.
