I worked at a company years ago and the company was so hostile towards certain employees that there were several occasion that I felt that I had to speak up. I was working for a transportation company and I was the warehouse manager. The warehouse workers were treated so badly that they were not even considered as equals with anyone else in the company. For instance, the warehouse was expected to open for business at 5am whether there was work to be done or not. The office would schedule work at any time of day on any day without regard for the workers personal life. Even the simplest of courtesies was never extended to the warehouse. One day I was at work and it began snowing after

It is possible that 1995 Automobile Corporation could get sued by the 2 female employees if it is proven that they were aware of the harassment occurrence. 1995 Auto Corporation is also liable for hiring the harassing individual on grounds of being unfit for the job at hand (due to the existing circumstances), yet still kept in the supervisory position. At this time, the EEOC will notify 1995 Auto Corporation with the name & contact info of the investigator assigned to your case. If there is a possibility that the case be resolved through mediation and settlement, this would be advantageous for the company. Litigation is defined as legal proceeding brought to a court room (EEOC, 2003). With this being said, it is obvious that this can be time and money consuming; deposition, subpoenas, preparing exhibits, interviewing witnesses must be done before just to prepare (also, if any pretrial motions arise, the case could go on indefinitely). On the other hand, mediation (if the victims agree to participate) can be reached outside of a courtroom (which is a plus for keeping the brand name of 1995 Auto Corporation in tact) in a private, relaxed setting. Here, the process may take some time and energy, but the results are gratifying…

Jamie Heyes is a good kid who was forced to either let his teammate die or to take action in a situation in the heat of the moment, and what all of us are here to bring to light is weather he wanted to kill Valdez. I can tell you for a fact not a material one that Jamie had no intent to kill, and the evidence supports this. The prosecution cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that any of its points are indisputable or differing experiences…

Biv. The procedure I need to follow to raise a grievance at work would be to first let the person know I am offended by their behaviour, keep a record of what is happening, if I feel the problem has not been resolved I will raise the matter with my line manager or their line manager and they will then investigate as appropriate and I will be advised of the outcome. In the case of a formal grievance there is an ACAS code of practice which is advisable to follow. ACAS works with both employer and employee to solve workplace grievances. Mediation can also be an option.…

I think that Jamie Gilt did not learn her lesson about gun ownership because she would have posted something about realizing the dangers of owning a gun instead of posting about her son accidentally shooting her as something funny. Moreover, Jamie should be charged with negligence because she deliberately placed her gun somewhere that her son is able to reach and shoot her. Furthermore, she should have taught her son about the responsibilities of having a gun and the dangers of having one instead of teaching him that it's fun and should be used as toy then for serious circumstances. It really is a sad situation, but could have been prevented if she was more caution considering she is really passionate about having a gun. More importantly, she…

A very clear example of harassment based on an employees’ race is evident in the lawsuit filed against MMR Constructors, Inc. in Arkansas. An African American employee was subjected to racial harassment by white employees that included racially offensive language, graffiti and death threats. White employees went as far as going to the black employees’ home in the middle of the night and threatened his life because he apparently reported the racially charged incidents to the company. The employee reported the “midnight visit” incident to the company and the company refused to take action against the employees because it did not happen at work. When a company overlooks incidents happening on and off the worksite, it gives the harasser the impression that the company condones the behavior.…

Past researches have established that if a person faces any kind of injustice or uncivil behavior at workplace, it affects his/her overall mental health (Laschinger, Wong, Regan, Young-Ritchie & Bushell, 2013; Rai, 2015). Pearson et al., (2000) conduct an exhaustive poll and point out that a vast majority of employees have witnessed more than one act of incivility (verbal or non-verbal abuse) at their workplace. In 2011, a research conducted by Porath & Pearson reported that a shocking 98% of respondents have experience uncivil behavior at their workplace. Further the research revealed that from the above victims, 78% admitted that their commitment towards the organization declined due to such experiences (Porath & Pearson, 2013). Another…

I experienced discrimination in the workplace, and after making an EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) complaint on a supervisor, she became more discriminatory towards me. The supervisor would make racist statements, once she found out I put an EEO complaint in on her, she would deliberately change my schedule, and put me on shifts that I could not work, to get me to quit. Most places do not give “set schedules” which means a person works the same shift and works the same hours on the same days. However, the position I worked, was a set schedule position. After going through weeks of the hostile environment, and continued derogatory statements, I quit as it was stressing me out, which caused me to lose severe weight.…

I worked at SAM's Club for a year and the unethical behavior of the management and some associate was the reason why I left SAM's club. I am going to give some cases how Sam's Club treats their associates as means only. The first one, is after working at Sam's club for two months I realized that favoritism plays huge role. Sam's club treat some of their associates like royals and some like trash. They ask some of their associates to watch other associates, if they are using their phones or talking to other associates. The Iliad. Translated by Robert Ragles. Yes homer is honorable. Honor: honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions; this is the definition by which Achilles, ought to be judged. Throughout the Iliad, Achilles acts on rage and revenge. “Rage-Goddess, sing the rage of Peleus’ son Achilles, murderous, doomed, that cost the Achaens countless losses, hurling down to the House of Death so many sturdy souls, great fighters’ souls, but made their bodies carrion, feasts for the dogs and birds…” (1, 1-5) From the beginning of the epic the reader learns of Achilles rage and wants for blood. Achilles fights only for himself and his own glory.…

The way I was treated did not seem fair, it wasn't awful in the sense of harassment but they weren't as welcome as they should of been. Of course there was training that needed to be done and at Pizza Hut it took me almost 2 weeks to get everything down because they acted like it was a bother for somebody new to come in. While at Sonic they immediately told me how to do all the scanning, making drinks, taking orders all within a couple of days due to the fact that everyone was so helpful. It was almost like oh hey its another workday but when I came to work at Sonic we all actually had a conversation because I had became friends with…
