Jaycee Dugard Summary
I. Summary of main events
a. Jaycee Dugard was kidnapped at the age of 11 on her way to school in June of 1991. In her memoir she goes into detail of her abduction and being used for sexual purposes. The battle of giving birth to two baby girls at the age of 14 and 17. Jaycee elucidates how a married couple, Phillip and Nancy had stolen 18 years of her life.

II. Influential person
a. Although Jaycee didn’t spend much time with her mom she was a very influential piece in Jaycees life. Throughout the memoir she talks about how loving and caring her mother was. During captivity Jaycee tried to erase memories of her childhood with her mom because it hurt her to bad.
Hardship
a. Jaycee was raped by Phillip various times and Phillip did runs where he would do drugs and rape Jaycee for long periods of time. A couple years after this started, Jaycee became pregnant with her first child A. After A was born the runs continued. That's when Jaycee found out she was pregnant with her second child S.

Major events
a. The birth of her first child A was a very scary experience for Jaycee. A was born August 18, 1994 at 4:35am in one of the sheds Phillip had built in the backyard called the next door. Her second baby was born November 13,1997 at 2:15am in the same place.
b. Recovering from her abduction and the traumatic experiences, Jaycee has found the courage through her therapeutic sessions to create the JAYC Foundation. Her goal is to create a foundation to bring back some of the joy and pride many have lost."
