Upon using the search words "Jean Watson EBP Research" I was able to come across a Kristen M. Swanson who conducted research under Jean Watson. Dr. Swanson's research concentrated on pregnancy and early fetal loss. She also did three articles that were based off of Wastson's Caritas. Therefore, I choose to look up the other nursing theory I was interested in by Patricia Benner called From Novice to Expert. My first clinical instructor introduced me to her by reading little experts from her book at the end of day wrap up. Benner believed that a nurse develops her skills over learning evidence - based practices while combining them with her daily experiences to help improve their skills as they grow. This Theory is more about theory applied to a nurse as they venture through their career (Nursing Theories: A companion to nursing theories and models, 2011). Then I decided to use the search words "Benner Theory EBP Research", and by doing this I was able to pull up a current article. This article was, Improving Quality and Patient Safety by Retaining Nursing Expertise, written by Karen Hill. I have decided to use the resource of the Academic Resource Center at my college and see if the staff there can help direct be better. I believe that I have been able to find some very useful articles that I am able to use. Yet, I also feel as if it is overwhelming and all over the place.
