Jeremy Lin: The National Basketball Association Player
People might admire someone in their childhood or during their life. Such as their parents, movie star, singer or athlete. For me, the National basketball Association player
"Jeremy Lin" is the person who I respect. Why do I esteem Jeremy Lin, yet I don’t admire the other world famous players like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant or Kevin Durant? There are two reasons why Jeremy is the athlete I respect the most. First, I admire him because of his excellence under pressure. I have been an enthusiastic basketball fan since I was 8 years old. It is difficult to be a player in the NBA, especially for the Asians. Jeremy is an Asian-American athlete and it is rare in the United State. Sometimes many people might
have unfair judgments about him and it is tough to adjust your mind to face these opinions, but he challenges stereotype. Jeremy uses his intelligence and brain to handle tough situations and make the thing seems simple. Second, he is always the hardest working player on the court. He doesn't have a strong physical body as other NBA players. Therefore, he must practices harder than everyone; more run, more focus, and have more energy in the games. His attitude resembles the Chinese saying “Never Give Up” and Asian people love his way. As a result, when Jeremy Lin wear the NBA uniform and appears on the court, he inspires Asian including me and he also proves that anyone is can play basketball well if we work as hard as him. For these reason, Jeremy Lin is my favorite person athlete. He has shown us we can be successful without talent if we keep our attitude and we take everything seriously. I will follow his example and keep learning and trying hard at everything until I become a successful man.
