On 05/29/2016, at approximately 2246, Night shift Officers responded to 2451 Teeple St. in response to a shooting call. Prior to receiving the call at Teeple St. there was already an afternoon shift officer out with a Deshawn Matthews who had shown up at St. Marys Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. Officers located a victim (Joshua Hopkins) at 2451 Teeple St. who was transported to UT Hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg (non-life threatening). During the investigation it was found that Deshawn Matthews was one of the suspects involved in the shooting at 2246 Teeple St. along with his accomplice (Theron Taylor Jr.). Emma Maddox was born in Strawberry Plains Tennessee in 1870. Her parents were named William J. and Sarah Mauldin. When she was a baby, her and her parents moved to Greenville. Emma then graduated from Benedict college. She soon met her first husband, James Walker, then had eight children. She moved to Ware Shoals in 1917 to persue her career as a teacher, while her husband became principal. Her first husband died in 1919. After his death, she became the principal. She remarried to Reverend J.S. Maddox in the early 1930’s. She passed unfortunately in 1942 at the age of 72.…

McKenzy Hupke, a senior at the Performing Arts Academy in Lakehurst, NJ recently was diagnosed with stage four squamous cell carcinoma, a cancer that invaded her head and lungs. One day during school Hupke fell onto the ground after a long nosebleed which quickly made her lose consciousness. After all of this, the cancer rendered her completely deaf. Tumors in both ears forced the removal of her eardrums.Thankfully she hears because the creation of cochlear implants. Hupke is a strong teenage leader who, “You would never know she’s suffering from the level of illness that she is,” said Mary Kenny, vocal music instructor at the Performing Arts Academy. “She never allows it to hold her back.”…

Jimmy Valentine is a guy who has broken into several safes and stolen thousands of dollars. He was taken to jail as soon as the police found him, however broke out before finishing his full sentence. After robbing several more safes using his trusty tools that he made himself, he scurried off to Logansport, Indiana. He went there to open a shoe business, and see how robbing worked in that part of town. There he saw place called Elmore bank and was on his way to rod it when he saw the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. That's when everything started to change he started to become a better man; he made friends with almost everyone in the town, his shoe business was really hitting it off, and he was going to be married to the girl that she saw in the bank. He wrote a letter to an old friend of his to give him his tools because he was not going to rod anymore. He also saved a little girl’s life, she was tapped in a safe and Jimmy broke in and got her out. Jimmy’s old friend was actually an undercover detective who had been looking for Jimmy to take him back to jail. However seeing how much that he has changed he decided to leave Jimmy free. Jerome Murdough, a fifty-six-year-old ex-Marine, was looking for a safe place to sleep in 2013, when he was arrested and charged with trespassing. He was fined over two thousand dollars and, due to his insufficient funds, was sent to Rikers Island—where he met his end. Murdough was in the suicide watch section of the prison due to a history of mental illnesses and was supposed to be periodically checked every fifteen minutes. Autopsies show that he likely died of heatstroke or severe dehydration, which conveys that he was not checked according to protocol (Pearson 1).
