What do you think about the way Jesus is portrayed in the different gospels?

I think Jesus is portrayed as a righteous man who has a lot of power and influence. In the Gospels Jesus is also portrayed as God. In my understanding of the Gospels I believe Jesus is portrayed as the only perfect person to ever walk on the face of the earth. I believe that Jesus is portrayed as having some prophet-like knowledge, and he never goes out of his way to explain who he is. The Gospels portray Jesus as a divine being and he becomes a model human for Christians to use as a role

    The Case for Christ I found the information revealed to be quite informative and for me, largely new as I’ve never researched these areas directly. There is plenty of evidence presented on each topic and Strobel uses each interview to explore a number of angles from the skeptics perspective to ensure he looks for answers to the most common questions that relate to every interview topic. The experts range greatly but are primarily scholars and authors of various books with published content on each relevant topic. They have years of research and study on each area and are well suited to answer Strobel’s questions. Because the format of the book is written as a narrative description of these interviews with each expert. I found this part a bit of a stumble as it doesn’t carry much between each topic. There is some reference between the chapters and evidence presented that builds on previous findings but they are large separate individual chapters. This made the book a bit harder for me to really get since aside from the particle topic in each chapter there wasn’t any kind of story and building component to the book. This still worked very well and definitely makes a focus on purpose to address each of the questions, it just took more to keep me interested. I think some of that was due to the historical nature, as I have little to no interest in history and find it quite boring to read about so I got more than my share in one or two chapters. There isn’t too much of this historical componetn though so it didn’t hold me back from continuing through the book and exploring each of the questions with great interest.…

    Starting with Christology one can start to examine the Gospels of John and Mark, where they agree and disagree. Jesus’ proclamation of his Deity resulted in skepticism as seen in John 5:18, “calling God his own Father, thereby making himself equal to God. Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise”. Jesus tries to explain that even though He claims to have God as his Father and Him being equal to God, He is doing what God is calling him to do. He is doing God’s will and spreading the word of God. Similarly in Mark 2:5, when “Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.’ Now some of the scribes were sitting there questioning and wondering, “Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Another instance of the inquiring and searching that a lot of people had towards Jesus’ teachings. Both John and Mark, depict the adversities He had to deal through his journey on Earth. A similar theme that is seen in both gospels is the way Jesus went about his ‘secret’ mission of spreading His divinity can be seen in Mark 5:40, “He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha come, and immediately the girl got up and began to walk about.
