The Assassination that Haunts American Lives
A conspiracy theory is an explanatory proposition that accuses a person, group, or organization of having caused or covered up an event or phenomenon of great social, political, or economic impact. For example, the event of the Watergate scandal is a proven conspiracy theory that Richard Nixon and his aides were behind the cause and cover-up of the Watergate break-in. A conspiracy that has been in debate since 1963 is the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States. The conspiracy has left one of the most devastating deaths at question and still haunts Americans today.
The assassination of the president at the time took place in Dallas, Texas near Dealey Plaza. The limousine that President Kennedy was riding in was top down, everyone having great faith that nothing would go wrong, but that was suddenly re-thought when shots were fired at the president as the open limousine headed down Elm Street. Essays such as the famous Warren Report, said the shots were fired from a rifle on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository. Witnesses also said the same (Spencer).

He was angry at the fact that president Kennedy was against the Soviet Union’s active weaponry and that Governor Connolly “rejected him out of the Marines when he lived in the Soviet Union” (Spencer). Another, and probably the most questionable conspiracy theory about the assassination, is that it was part of a bigger plot by the Soviet Union and even some government groups of the United States. The theory suggesting that is the fact that CIA agents were said to have been “angry at the Bay of Pigs incident” or “under the command of Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson” (American

Here he comes! Heading passed the Texas Book Depository. Bang, bang, bang, bang. Our thirty-fifth president John F. Kennedy was shot, and died instantly. How many shooters were there? How many shots were there really? Who was this Lee Harvey Oswald? Why did Jack Ruby kill Oswald? These are the mysteries of JFK’s assassination. There are many conspiracies to his assassination, like the official Warren Commission report of 1964. I have a theory there were multiple shooters. There were many shooters, because of how many shots there were, and the autopsy photos of JFK and the bullet wounds in the governor. This will all tie into my conspiracy.…

THE MOB FELT BETRAYED IN 1963. Chicago godfather Sam Giancana had helped Kennedy win the 1960 election through skulduggery, and Miami mobster Santos Trafficante had aided the CIA in its assassination attempts on Castro. But rather than pledging their loyalty, the Kennedys launched an all-out campaign against organized crime. Attorney General Robert Kennedy first went after Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa and then deported New Orleans syndicate boss Carlos Marcello to Guatemala. Pushed around long enough, and angry at the president for going soft on Castro -- who had shut down its lucrative Cuban casinos -- the mob made someone an offer he couldn't refuse. Oswald was either its hit man or its patsy. Upon his arrest, the mob dispatched Jack Ruby to silence him.…

This conspiracy begins with mention of the ever so popular “Magic Bullet”. Although there can never really be such thing as a magic bullet, evidence has shown that in order for the shot that passed through Kennedy and into Conolly to have been fired from the Depository, one would have had to have existed. Simple bullet ballistics contradicts the path that the bullet took. After it passed through Kennedy, experts say that the bullet would have had to stop in mid air, take a dramatic turn to the right and continue straight from that location into the back of Connolly. The CIA and FBI have been very quick to dismiss this theory along with just about all other conspiracies that have surfaced over the years. However the idea of the “Magic Bullet” and the questionable trajectory of the shot is something that cannot go overlooked.…

I believe the government plotted the JFK assassination. Why would they do this? I do not know. I do know that the evidence proves the government did it. The special ops being shipped to the South Pole, the shot from the grassy knoll, and the change in the parade route is some of the evidence presented to the public, causing the reasons for conspiracy theories. The government used Lee Harvey Oswald as a scapegoat and for the United States public to blame it on.…

Lee Harvey Oswald was a crazy and mentally unstable man. He was in the U.S. Marines and was court-martialed twice in 1958 for having an illegal weapon and for being violent (“Lee” 4). The CIA would have not trusted this psychotic man to carry out a task as huge and risky as assassinating the president of the United States. Especially if he could not even behave in the U.S.…

Do you remember the Berenstain Bears being the Berenstein Bears? Or think that the United States really wasn’t the first country to step on the moon? The previous questions connect to a few out of thousands of conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories are the belief that a person or organization secretly influenced or caused an event. For example, some people believe that 9/11 terrorist attacks were actually planned and carried out by the government, who would blame ISIS and give the government a reason to kill Osama Bin Laden. Conspiracy theorists don’t always know if their theory is true, but they do always think that an event’s “official story” is a cover-up. Conspiracy theory popularity has also gained quite a bit; especially theories like…

The 35th president of the United States was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was traveling in a presidential motorcade with his wife and the Connally couple when a gunshot was heard. Most people in the crowd were not too concerned, misinterpreting the sound as that of a firecracker. Just as Kennedy was waving to the crowd, a second shot pierced Kennedy through the neck. By the time a third shot hit Kennedy in the head a few seconds later, the presidential limousine had already been covered with blood and pieces of brain. Kennedy was immediately sent to Parkland Memorial Hospital, but the wound was fatal (Swanson). The White House Acting Press Secretary announced…

Other than the shots that came from the back, there is evidence of shots from the front. A doctor that worked on Kennedy had stated that a shot hit Kennedy in the throat from his front side (“What is the Case for a Conspiracy in the Assassination?”). There were about 40 witnesses that thought they detected a shot from the grassy knoll, which was in front of Kennedy’s car. In the late 1970s the HSCA (House Select Committee on Assassinations) admitted there was a possibility that a shot came from the grassy knoll. There were also films of the assassination that came out. These films showed that Kennedy’s head went backwards instead of forwards as a result of the shot (“What is the Case for a Conspiracy in the…

Kennedy was shot down. Throughout the entire book it describes the process of how he travels through Dallas, Texas all the way to Houston Street, downtown Dallas, where he was shot in the brain and Governor John Connally was shot in his back and then the bullet went through him and got his wrist as well. As soon as shots were fired protection went into immediate defensive mood. After Arriving at Parkland Hospital doctors rushed to try and save the president, even knowing there was no hope, at 1 P.M. John Kennedy was pronounced dead. Directly after the announced death funeral preparations began, his wife wanted him to have a “hero” type funeral, one he really deserved and would be proud of. The news of the president traveled fast. It traveled so fast that stores closed, not one person wanted return to work after being summoned away. Once hearing about the shooting Gay Paris said in tears “It’s not so hard to believe, it’s just so hard to take.” After the story got on the radios and traveled out of the United States, French President Charles de Gaulle ordered his country to put their flags at half-staff. He said “President Kennedy died like a solider, under fire, for his duty and in the service of his country. In the name of the French people… I salute this great example and this great…
