They induce a variety of beneficial effects, including muscle building, relaxation of spastic muscle, improvement of blood circulation, reduction of joint contractures and alleviation of pain. NeuroProsthetics improve function in a way that is “physiological”.

I had an absolutely great time at the Senior Slam. I never thought I would enjoy listening to poems, as much as I did. My impression of the event, before attending was that I was going to be bored, but instead it was entertaining and I can definitely see myself attending many more poetry events like this in the future. The poems really resonated in me and made a profound impact with how I see my friends, classmates and myself. I am really close to Dante Lopresti and Nasheed Bridgeman and to be hundred percent honest, I never knew they had the abilities to write beautiful poems like they displayed during the Senior Slam. Dante’s poem talked about his experience at our yearly football trip to Mercersburg. I was on the trip with him and I never once thought that he was going to write about that experience. Nasheed’s poem focused on how his attitude and personality progressed over his four years at Gonzaga. He used specific examples like how he used to fight with his fellow teammates in practice, which I had experienced as a player on his team. This year I saw the improved personality of Nasheed Bridgeman and I agree with him that his change has made him a better person. This experience definitely helped me see my close friends like Nasheed Bridgeman, Kyle Taylor and Dante Lopresti in a totally new light.…

Social situations illustrate the power of how external pressures influence peoples’ reactions and responses. The pressures can often have a strong effect on their responses. Richard Wright's "The Ethics of Living Jim Crow" illustrates his cruel childhood lesson of learning how to live with the prejudice and discrimination. It is an autobiographical sketch of the Negro experience in a white-dominant society. Whites view themselves as superior to blacks and thus act in ways to express their superiority. Their discriminatory actions create social pressures and dictate consequences that compel blacks to act in certain ways. Rather than simply stating the Jim Crow laws, Richard Wright utilizes his childhood anecdotes to capture the dominant white attitude that imposed a low social status on blacks. While the majority of blacks accept their inferior role, Richard Wright exhibits frustration towards these people's actions and chooses to respond with subtle defiance.…
