The Teaching of Jesus in my opinion is meant to be interpreted in a figurative language. I believe this because in the scripture Jn 6:47-58 john talks about the last supper scene. This is said in a figurative language because it is not to be interpreted as the actual blood and flesh of Jesus. This citation contrasts the experience between the two because the blind man believes and the Pharisees don’t. The Pharisees saw things but never did anything to correct the wrongs because they didn’t believe and needed convincing. However the blind man believed no matter what and didn’t need convincing and therefore could see the word of god. Although this scripture uses a blind man the symbolic meaning of being blind is believing in the word of God and opening your eyes shows the symbol of open up to the father and believing in him.
