Joe Newcomer And Tina Conflict
Doctor Martin Luther King Jr once said “Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.” (N.d). This conflict began at the More Power company between Tina Tumultuous and the customer Maria. Tina was being rude and aggressive and to top it off with ethnically insensitive towards Maria. Joe Newcomer gave Tina a three-day suspension. After Tina return things got worst. Tina threats by falsifying accusing Joe for being unfair towards her because other employees where being rude to customers as well without being pushed. She demanded for Joe to remove the three-day suspension or she will file a discrimination suit. Tina left the Joe’s office still mad and …show more content…
First, I will discuss the natural tendencies Joe Newcomer and Tina Tumultuous exhibit while handling their conflict. Secondly, their tendencies are power based on. Thirdly, if Joe truly desired a strong relationship with Tina could have act differently. Fourthly, If Joe should have explored the collaboration conflict solution with Tina, things could have been different. Natural tendencies that Joe and Tina exhibited in handling their conflict

First of all, Joe Newcomer natural tendencies are to be a discipline mature supervisor. He will give verbal warning first and then escalates depending on the offense occurred. He does not tolerate when subordinate challenges his authority. Once his authority is being challenge, has a direct one-way conversation. After, he does not let the subordinate express their feelings and is bias to his beliefs. In the contrary, Tina had been a good working, diligent employee. She wants to fit in with the crew when watching the other employees are being rude with the customers. She had been having some personal issues and does not let supervision know. She is in the egocentric, impulsive stage. “Lack the capacity to distinguish between their own of an event or person.” (Sandy, 2014, p. 436). When she challenged and threat Joe for discrimination

As a manager, he should explain Tina what she did was wrong and be more sympathetic when she said some personal issues was affecting her work. “Empathy is a factor of promoting perspective taking. (The ability to analyze the situation.)” (Sandy, 2014, p.441). If Tina was not an aggressive employee and her actions change is a red flag. Then, when Tina wanted to talk to Joe after the suspension, Tina said she had some personal problems. He should had said, “Can I help you in any way or do you want to talk about

On ethical level, the use of audiovisual or online instruction many thwart the ability of a prospective employee the ability to engage in their job training at full capacity as one would if there were an actual live person teaching the individual. The use of audiovisual instruction may allow for the use of shortcuts by a prospective tester. Additionally, if the trainee or prospective employee is not technologically adept to these tools, they may not succeed at their training and not get the job. A more suitable training that will overcome the deficiencies of the audiovisual and structuring would be the use of conferences. Conferences allow the trainee to become involved in lecture and study at a high level. The use of conferences allows individuals to associate and work with individuals on the same core educational techniques and receive immediate instruction if necessary.
