According to the CDC high blood pressure is more prevalent in African Americans than it is in Hispanics and Caucasians. Hypotension is a reduction of the pressure within the lumen of the blood vessels. During normal digestion the lower esophageal sprinter opens to allow the passing of nutrients into the stomach and then it closes so prevent acidic juices or food to flow back into the esophagus. Gastroesophageal disease happens when the lower esophageal sphincter is damaged or weaken and so the stomach contents return up the esophagus and causes damage to the tissues and as a result can cause heartburn or acid indigestion. Some of the reasons a person may get heartburn would be eating too much spicy food or over eating in one sitting. Pregnant women are also prone to getting heartburn. If a person has the symptoms more than twice a week they probably have G.E.R.D. However, G.E.R.D. can easily be managed with over the counter medications such as Tums and Mylanta as well as some lifestyle
