However, no one will listen to him. Fred is younger bird and does not have the position to be heard by the rest of the colony. He seeks help from one of the bird on the Leadership Council, Alice. He shows Alice what he has observed and what he thinks the colony should do. Once Alice was convinced, they pulled together a team of penguins to help them, Buddy, the Professor, and the Head Penguin, Louis. Under the leadership of Fred, the penguins used their varied personalities and leadership skills to create a plan to coax the colony into a much needed change. Change is not an easy thing and that was shown by some of the colony’s hesitation and disagreement, like one Leadership Council member, NoNo. The group then spots a seagull flying through the air. They wonder how he survives in this cold weather and why he is alone. The seagull lands and tells them that his colony is nomadic and he is a Scout; he seeks out new land and food ahead of the rest of the group.
