The northern part wanted a communist government, and the southern part didn’t. The U.S. sided with the southern part and sent in 2,000 military advisors, witch in a few years turned into 16,300. Over time, the U.S. had many more troops sent in for the war, including my great Uncle John. At any time, he and his buddies could’ve been called into action. All in all, John is clearly not just “average”. He is a hero. Serving for our country and putting his life on the line, he may not have actually fought, but he would’ve been the first one on a plane to go fight. There are very few people like John in this world, and that's why I am so thankful to have him as my great
