When Jonas becomes receiver of memory he is slightly nervous and scared. He does not know what his future might become. When The Giver starts Jonas’ training, Jonas is mad that his entire life people have lied about what is beyond, and they also lied about release.
Jonas is furious that things have been kept from him, and not just him to everyone in his community. What will Jonas have to do to protect himself and the people he love?
The movie had slight differences from the book for example, Jonas was number nineteen in the book, but in the movie he was number fifty-two. Also Asher was assigned drone pilot in the movie, but in the book he was assigned Assistant director of recreation. In the movie the Chief Elder is evil, but in the book she is nice. These are just some of the differences in the book. Personally I like the book better. This is because in the there is more detail. I like to imagine the scene in the book by its description.
I rate this movie a ⅗ this is because I would have loved to see more action and suspense. I think this movie is suitable for all ages. This is a movie that can be watched on movie night with the family. This movie is perfect for people who like fiction. What will happen to Jonas? Will he stay in this community that is full of lies?
