Jostens Reflection
My experience with Jostens renaissance program started in ninth grade when I signed up for the yearbook class. In yearbook, the other students and I were able to express the school’s creativity, spirit, and love for each other. The yearbook staff was able to work together with Jostens to create memories and experiences. I enjoyed using the Jostens Renaissance Program because it is a great representation of the schools culture and community. Everyone in the school district has witnessed and experienced the products and materials that Jostens provides for its consumers. The yearbook is a reflection of the culture of the school, and how the students interact with one another, build, and shape their school’s community. The yearbook is a tool that …show more content…

These rings can express personal interests and hobbies. The rings that juniors can purchased are a monumental step in a high school student’s life. This piece of jewelry is a symbol to everyone in the community that the students have accomplished their goals and have come one step closer to graduation. Rings and other jewelry that Jostens provides for its costumers express the culture of the high school by flaunting its student’s accomplishments. After the purchasing of the ring, seniors have the opportunity to buy cap and gowns from Jostens. This is also a big step for a high school senior because it is a visual confirmation that graduation is just around the corner. Cap and Gowns show that the school itself is a united community that congratulates its students on their accomplishments. Jostens also has graduation invitations and other senior pride merchandise available for interested high school seniors and juniors. The merchandise is a definite expression of community because it can be personalized and sent out to other cultures and communities. This allows other cultures to see and experience the seniors’ particular culture. I have personally benefited from Jostens Renaissance’s products and expressions of culture and community, by purchasing a class ring, senior merchandise, and a graduation cap and gown set. This program has provided me and my family with great opportunities to show my accomplishments while in high

In William Shakespeare's play Macbeth, the reader is left to ponder the question of whether fate or free will is responsible for Macbeth's actions. Some people believe that the three sisters control Macbeth's fate and that he is as much a victim as King Duncan and his grooms, while others believe that Macbeth, alone, is responsible for his actions. Although fate has a part in Macbeth's decisions, the story is a tragedy of character. The witches prophesy that Macbeth will someday be king and Lady Macbeth rouses his hidden aspirations and desires, but it is Macbeth's ambition that gives rise to the poor decisions he makes to fulfill the prophecy.…

Last week in class we read the Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. The book showed what's it’s like to overcome adversity at anytime even when times are bad Jeannette Walls overcame her father's alcoholism and her mother's psychoness. The family was also going through a financial crisis so with the weight of everything on her she had to get over so much for her to be able to succeed in her later life. Jeanette was a very strong and determined person and she didn’t allow herself to use the homelessness or her father’s alcohol problems but more as opportunities. She felt as if the hardships were making her who she was and it allowed her to become such a strong and humble person. I have had much adversity but this was the hardest for me. A couple…

As principal of Dassel-Cokato high school, your influence and work with today’s youth is extremely important and vital. The imprints we leave upon these freshmen are that of something which will carry on throughout their years, surpassing high school. Being a graduate of Dassel-Cokato, this school district is very dear to me and I also understand and am able to see the technology slowly taking over this younger generation’s attention. As much as you are around and working with the youth of your school, I’m sure you understand the importance of trying to stray youth from technology and push them into the direction of nature.…

My conclusion, as I took this class my understanding of Christians has being a good outlook for me, in the way that God wants us to live. As I have outline about Jesus did not claim to be God, but he did state that I am the Fathers and Son. And if a person is a Christian, does it matter how they live their life, yes it does because they are suppose to be God leader in order to help others come to God. The local church can communicate God’s love to the community by going out and taking time to help the community understand the meaning of God.…

We all remember high school. Whether it was one or four years ago that we graduated, we all have memories of our former high school in our minds. The sweaty locker rooms, the locker filled hallways, and our favorite teachers were all part of the experience. Among the fond, and not-so-fond memories we have, remains the imprint in our minds of the different aspects of life we saw every day. One of the many aspects of life we clearly saw was the differing styles and trends of individuals. The diversity of these various styles was extreme and revealed each individuals lifestyle.…

Reflection allows an individual to identify the reasons or purpose of understanding the outcome of a particular situation in depth in term of emotions on thought and feeling on the topic area. In addition, Reflection is something that we do implicitly as part of being human, underpinning our identities through a process of negotiation between our sense of self and our experiences of others (Demetriou, 2000, p.210). Therefore, I have implemented this quote in my professional and personal goals I wanted and have achieved thought-out the process of the module. I have made continues effort in building my confidence in situations that I have felt uncomfortable in.…

I must first remind you of the unrest among our fellow students before I begin to examine the pandemonium we currently suffice as home. Our generation is at war with the complicated reality of this stringent society and we must no longer allow mainstream practices to dictate our freedom. The time is now for us to shed the constraints of our parents’ generation and provide a change that will bring authenticity to America’s youth! We standup not just for ourselves but for those of tomorrow and to change the norms of today.…

I do hope that you took the time to enjoy my genre recreation project. The idea was a very spur of the moment decision, and came to me quite suddenly in the middle of Michael’s craft store. My original thought was to create a scrapbook of a certain characters’ life, and make a sort of collage of events surrounding them. Alex Galvin took me to Michael’s the Monday before the project was due, and I spent hours (or so Alex feels) looking around the craft sections at all the different scrapbooks and pages and stamps galore. I picked up almost everything I needed when I wandered over to the woodcraft section- and there it was: a beautiful wooden shadow box. I immediately dropped everything into Alex’s hands and dashed over to it. As I was looking at it I thought, how original… no one else will think to do this, and a brilliant idea formed in my head. Much to Alex’s dismay, I had him put all of my other supplies back where they came from so that I could start on this new idea.…

This presentation was informative about ELL’s in Florida. First, I learned about our district’s demographics. Florida is “ranked 3rd in ELL population.” Most of the ELL students speak Spanish and come from low economic backgrounds. During the presentation, the presenters were informed about the area and connected the information to our lives. Next, I learned the reason why people move to the United States. For example, for better careers, to escape war, to escape the government, and over all they are looking for a better life. Most people call this “the American Dream.” Newcomers initially feel happy and excited. After, a little while they have a culture shock and feel scared. These students are transitioning into a huge change, and they might not know the common language. The best way to make these students feel like they are at home is to help them in the classroom. Teachers play a vital role in a student’s life, teachers help mold and shape children. ELL students should be on an ELL plan, for they can receive services to help them succeed.…

Getting a school ring has been a tradition in high school over the years, but in recent years juniors have been indecisive about whether they should get one. Many feel it's too expense for something they many not wear when they're older, while others feel it's important to get something to remind them of high school and the memories. Class rings can be traced back to the mid 1800's to United States Military Academy in West Point Virginia. Class rings were a symbol of values and morals and a sense of pride going to one of the best military schools in the country. Since class rings became popular, other schools started a class ring traditions. Schools like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton began to offer rings as they became a symbol of power in the…

During the teaching, I used open ended questions and questions and answers. I also gave the patient 4 handouts and highlighted the important discussion points and topics I discussed. I estimated that the process would take between 15-30 minutes depending on if the patient and her daughter had any questions. The whole process took about 20 minutes. I believe that the handouts were the best way to achieve my goals. The daughter was very happy that I had them, and was especially appreciative of the pictures that were in the handouts. I began by assessing the patients learning needs, learning deficits, factors affecting learning, and the learning environment. I turned the television down, but the patient would not let me turn it off. After my…

It was the week every high school student looked forward to ever since they were a freshman; it was a week of paradise with no homework, papers, or tasteless school food. A week filled with adventure, sunshine, and babes in bikinis. For one week the only thing you had to worry about was not looking stupid in front of your classmates; but with a class like ours it would be stupid not to do something embarrassing. That is the week that I and six other seniors left our image on the class of 2012.…
