Artist like Juanes and the band Cafe Tacuba use their songs to show affection for someone they care for. This is a common theme in a lot of Latin American music to express their emotion.
In Juanes’s song Es por ti some of his lyrics talk about the appreciation of someone, for example “Soy el que quererte quiere como nadie soy” talks about how being and caring for that one person Is all Juanes wants. Similarly in Café Tacuba’s song Eres the topic of how they feel when they see that person they love, For example “Eres, lo que mas quiero en Este mundo, eso eres” in which they talk about how they fell towards a person. Another example of the person caring deeply for their love is “Que late mi Corazon Y es por
ti”. With the similarities of the songs a difference between Juanes and café Tacuba is that Juanes talks about dedication and café talks about how the point of view never changes even if bad events happen like falling our or cheating. Juanes uses “Me siento un vagabundo Perdido por el mundo Desordenado si no estás” to say that without the other person they feel lost and useless, then Café Tacubas lyrics “Qué más puedo decirte Tal vez puedo mentirte sin razón Pero lo que hoy siento Es que sin ti estoy muerto pues eres Lo que más quiero en este mundo eso eres” he mentioned that even if he may lie every once in a while but the one thing he loves in this world the most is that person. A common theme in a lot of Latin American music is to use it to confess/express your feelings to either someone of a certain subject. They use the song lyrics to convey their feelings. This shows that songs are just a way to combine their feelings into an easier way to tell them rather than just saying it, whether it’s about a person or a thought they have.
