Also they are both deceitful they are mean to other characters and they bully other kids. One reason why Julian and Peter are bad characters is that they are mean to other characters like when Julian slipped sticky notes into Auggie and Jacks lockers with mean things written on them. Also Julian started a game that is you can't touch Auggie or you have the plague. Education wise Peter has been known to have attended Providence high School in Rhode Island, but to have never graduated. He also has no college experience. This all may explain why his low intellect places him in a category below mentally retarded. His mental shortcomings have resulted in various accidents to other people; most notably the death of his step-father Francis Griffin, and injuries on multiple occasions to his wife Lois Griffin. Peter is shown generally to be a complete idiot, such as being dumb enough to think that there can be a World War 5 before World Wars 3 and 4 because it would be so intense that it would "Skip right over the other two." Peter also has a very short attention span which frequently leads him to bizarre situations.…

When viewing characters in stories they can either be viewed as flat or round; in this way flat meaning characters that have no change through the story and are usually uncomplicated in understanding who they are as a reader and round in contrast meaning that they are complex and change throughout the story, whether it may be relatively large or small. The narrator in the story is a part of a time where being “bad” was believed cool by those of the adolescence age group. His character is framed in the beginning when he says: “We were bad. We read Andre Gide and struck elegant poses to show that we didn't give a shit about anything" (P 1). This quote is substantial to the plot because it shows the reader that if they were really the bad characters they were trying to be then they wouldn’t be trying so hard doing all these things that aren’t even bad, which is apparent by the end of the story.…

Peter the older, power hungry brother is the evil to Ender’s good. From the beginning of the book, Anderson and Graff are, “Afraid of what (Peter) will do to (Ender).” (Card, 9). Later in the book, around the same time as when Ender is in Flight Commander school, Valentine is disgusted with Peter when she finds a squirrel’s dead carcass, “half – skinned, spiked by its little hands and feet with twigs... She pictured Peter trapping it, staking it…how long had it taken the squirrel to die? And all the while Peter sat nearby, leaning against the tree where perhaps the squirrel had nested, playing with his desk while the squirrel’s life seeped away” (Card, 123) Peter is a ruthless killer who even tosses the idea of, “ “whether to kill (Valentine) or what.” ” (Card, 124) What other 12 year old child would commit such cruel acts? An evil one, one who skins animals to watch them die, one who threatens to kill it’s own sister, and one who torments all nearest to him, while acting under a blanket of innocence to hide his misgivings. Peter is a demon of a child with a lust for evil and wrong things to commit and threaten with.…

He remains in solidarity, rarely speaking and gaining trust of both Jack and Ralph, who fight for the position of a leader. Simon is never aroused into violence, and manages to remain the only boy who is truly, consistently good, partly because of his nature. He remains good because his human nature is not provoked into savagery; he is simply above all the others. As for Piggy, his intellect arouses in him, a want to be heard; to spread his new and innovative ideas, instead of concealing them like Simon. Piggy represents the rational side of society, which at times makes him cold and careless of everything, except for gaining acceptance. The two represent separate parts of the deteriorating morality amongst the other boys, Piggy and Simon possess the qualities that are disregarded in the tumult of survival; Piggy is rational and intellectual, while Simon is the purity and goodness in people.…

Peter is almost the head of there little group, and the choices he makes determines what everyone else thinks and does. For example, Peter is sent into the HJ's because of his bad behavior and not because he wants to join. He is an individual and does not do what everyone else tells him to do just like all the rest of his peers are doing. Peter is a strong character because he thinks things through, and he thinks before he talks. In addition, peter did not discriminate against Aarvid even though his fellow HJ's and friends did. He is a good friend and would rater be loyal to his friends rather than to his fellow HJ's. Even when his friends in the HJ try to do something against his friends he will try to stop them instead of just letting them do it. No matter how or what everyone says is wrong with his friends he stays true to his real friends no matter what anyone says.…
