Ender And Valentine Character Analysis
Ender’s personality is manipulated a countless number of times in this book. Multiple times Ender worries that he is like Peter, his brother. Ender’s sister and friend, Valentine, assures him that he isn’t like Peter and that he is better than Peter. While Ender is a combination of both personalities, his personality fits Valentine, since he was incredibly remorseful when he killed the Buggers. Ender, while resembling both Peter and Valentine, is also different than both of them. Ender is like Peter in many ways. Ender is very violent towards people he doesn’t like. Peter hates Ender, and almost strangles him to death while playing a game. While Ender is gone at Battle School, Peter tortures squirrels, and leaves them for dead. Ender, while …show more content…

Valentine is sweet, and was too soft for Battleschool. When Ender kills all of the buggers, Ender is extremely remorseful, suggesting that he never wanted to hurt them. Ender also hates having to beat up Stillson and Bonzo. He never is told that he killed Stillson and Bonzo, and if he had been told, he would’ve been emotionally traumatized. Ender is also different from both Peter and Valentine. Valentine is one of Ender’s only real friends. Ender’s parents were only allowed to have him with permission of the government, and never pay attention to him. Peter, his brother, hates him, and everyone at his school ignores him. At first he is hated at Battleschool as well. Eventually, he makes a few friends, and they help him out through his tough times. Valentine, however, loved Ender since when he was born. Ender also loves Valentine, and agrees to go to Command School only to protect her. Ender has many sides, and struggles with who he really is throughout the book. Eventually, the reader realizes that he is just a kid, who just wants to be accepted for who he is. Ender realizes this as well, and travels to the destroyed Bugger planet, and spends the rest of his life trying to live his life the way he wants

Throughout all of Ender’s Game the main protagonist, Ender is set up to become the hero that saves the human race from the evil buggers. Enders ends up annihilating the entire bugger race and becomes a hero on earth for his actions. The debate whether Ender should be considers a hero or a mass killer is for his actions are fierce and passionate between readers. I believed that Ender should not be portrayed as a hero for the actions he did, considering he did not attempt to understand the buggers or communicate with them before he destroyed them.…

Both Ender and pips stories start around the time they were six. I believe the authors chose to start it from this point to show how much they develop as a character throughout the books. In the beginning for Great expectations pip is ambitious. At the start of Ender's game, Ender had not set any true goals for himself. Ender never possessed the optimistic trait that pip had throughout the first part of the novel. The beginning of Pip and Ender as characters shows how different their childhoods are. While Ender had a more fortunate childhood in the beginning, with both parents and didn't have to worry about schooling, Pip did not live with his parents and was raised by his sister who didn't care if pip ever got a real school…
