If you recall the way Jacquie used betrayal in her thesis, how man gets caught in his own thoughts, and then becomes fearful, then you can see how this challenged my views. What challenged my views about her thesis statement was how much I disagreed with the points she was making. But as she showed examples from the text about her form of betrayal, I started to agree more with her points. This challenged the points I was making about my thesis statement, but it also contributed to the points I was making. By listening to Jacquie’s presentation, I saw that I could add onto my thesis, to improve what I was saying about betrayal. What I thought I should add to my thesis is people betray themselves, and their family because of fear. This helped me to see the points Jacquie was making about betrayal in her presentation mixed well with the points I was making. Showing me that my peers thesis statements about betrayal challenged my views in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, but also helped my thesis statement to cover all of the forms of betrayal shown in the play. My peers thesis statements challenged my thesis statement by the different forms of betrayal they showed. By applying the information I learned from my peers presentation I can now see that even if you use same theme as someone else, you will still come up with totally different
