The cast even had big challenges to face for not only had this type of movie never been done before. But even the weather was a challenge. During the movie shoot in hawaii the crew and cast were stranded in a hotel for 4 days due to a massive hurricane. If you ask me sounds like a very memorable moment for the cast all on its own. There were several main characters in this movie most memorable were the kids ariana richards and joseph mazzello, and even the terrifying t rex was considered a part of the crew. There was even romance on the set with actor jeff goldblum and actress laura dern ( Zimbio entertainment news celebrity news,09 Apr 2016).

In her article entitled “Close Encounters of the Prehistoric Kind”, Science Magazine correspondent Ann Gibbons explains that due to interbreeding between Neanderthals and early modern humans, modern humans still contain traces of prehistoric Neanderthal DNA. According to researchers, Asians and Europeans most likely possess a higher frequency of Neanderthal genomes than Africans because the two species “occupied the [same regions] intermittently” in Europe, the Midwest, the Near East, and Russia and may have coexisted with one another for up to 10,000 years before the Neanderthal lineage died out. The article explains that Neanderthal genomes are present in “many people living outside of Africa” as there was not enough interbreeding occurring…

The novel is a techno thriller about an island of the coast of Costa Rica that serves as a zoological resort with dinosaurs being the main attraction. The movie counterpart of the same name has spawned four sequels all overseen by Steven Spielberg in some way or another. At the beginning of the novel Crichton write about how the world of genetics has changed and mentions a fictional small genetics lab company titled Ingen. He labels the short exposition “The InGen Incident”. The short chapter serves to partially set the tone of the novel. Micheal Crichton’s 1990 novel “Jurassic Park,” is a science fiction cautionary tale of how reckless experimentation without proper oversight can lead to catastrophic results. The novel revolves around an isolated Costa Rican island and the dangerous experiments taking place there. When a series of mysterious animal attacks begin to occur on mainland Costa Rica, a connection is made between the attacks and the “biological reserve” on Isla Nublar. Two paleontologists Allen Grant and Ellie Sattler are among the group whisked away by billionaire John Hammond to the island for a weekend. The island is revealed to be Jurassic Park, a themed park showcasing the world’s first cloned dinosaurs. The scientists at John Hammond’s research company, InGen, used dinosaur DNA found in the blood of parasites preserved in amber to reconstruct dinosaurs. All the dinosaurs in the…

It is this separation from the rest of the world that causes them to question their identity and existence. Zakharieva discusses how the monster in Branagh’s film questions who he is, if he has a soul. While in Jurassic World it is said that the dinosaur is contemplating her own existence and figuring out where she fits in the food chain. Both monster and dinosaur are trying to find their place in society and the world, but react violently. The destruction caused by these creatures turns them evil in the eyes of the audience and other characters. As explained in Zakharieva’s essay, the 1994 monster’s violent acts are cruel and unmotivated; mirroring this is the 2015 film’s comment from Owen Grady that the Indominus Rex is killing for sport. Our fear of the unknown, the unreasoned, the unexplainable is expressed through the reaction to the unprovoked murders in both films. In the novel Shelley explains the monster’s reasoning and thought process behind his killings while the 1994 film, as Zakharieva examines, shows his violence as spontaneous and cruel. Branagh’s and Trevorrow’s films are more frightening because we fear the unexplained, like the reason behind the creatures’…

Close Encounters of the Third Kind may not be my favorite Spielberg film overall (that would belong to Jaws, for those keeping score) but it definitely comes straight from his heart and is one of the films that best defines the person he is and as a filmmaker. The first highlight of the tour would be the amazing replica of a Basilasourus hanging overhead when we first walked in. I really enjoyed how our tour guide interacted with our class by having us guess what kind of creature we thought it might be, along with him giving us a detailed explanation of what it was. I found it to be fascinating that not only was the Basilasourus a sea creature, but also closely related to the Killer Whale of today. Not only was I unaware of those facts, but I also had no clue that the state fossil of Alabama was the Basilasourus, or that the state even had an official fossil. After learning about the “King of the Lizards”, I definitely expect myself to research more on this creature, due to the fact that I found it so interesting.…

The movie I saw was An Inconvenient Truth directed by Davis Guggenheim and narrated by former Vice President Al Gore. When I found out that this was Al Gore’s movie that everyone had made a big fuss about, I had the misconception that it was going to be boring. Al Gore has always seemed like a robot in terms of personality and I thought that this was a way to improve his public perception by using a new media. In addition, I thought that this movie was more propaganda to launch another run at the presidency. I was wrong. The movie captured my attention and I’m glad it was assigned for otherwise I may have never seen it.…
