Question 5 - At KPMG our global values guide the way that we interact with each other and help to create our open, friendly and supportive culture. Please tell us about a situation where you have used two of KPMG's values to achieve a positive outcome.* This year, I was on a team to present a topic about “Timeshare Development”, and we needed to teach it in the class. We separated the topics into four categories and did research on our own. One of the teammate was assigned to analyze the drawbacks with me. Neither of us could find much information about drawbacks online. Also, my teammate was confused about the topic. Thus, I organized a group meeting with my teammate, and explained the concepts and shared the information I found to her. I have been playing basketball basically my whole life, it is has shaped me into the person I am today. I started with just a ball and a hoop in my cousins front yard. I would just chuck the ball at hoop for fun, horsing around with my cousins. In elementary and middle school I would play with my friends at recess shooting around, dribbling in circles for the fun of it. I was even better then most of the boys who would play with my group on the courts. When I entered high school that was when I realized I was truly in love with the game. High school was where it was taken to a whole 'nother level. I was introduced to the real dynamics of the sport, it was where I learned that if I really want to do something that I love I had to put my all into it. I had to prove that I was one-hundred percent committed to the game. Practicing everyday for two hours, and…

In my comparison between Robinson and Pink I will show their style of irony. Ken Robinson stated “I knew that Americans get irony when I came across that legislation, "No Child Left Behind.”” He saw that as irony because it at times seen in education that teachers or instructors can determine how the students apply themselves in class. An instructor that is not engaged will have students that are not engaged. Yet, this no child left behind is meant to develop ways to help the children exceed or overcome their struggles. Pink’s “Mystery” stated “[The] Entity theorist view it as something more like height. (Want to get taller? You’re out of luck.)”. He sees intelligence as something shown through demonstration and as something you developed.…

Being part of the basketball clique in high school helped me learn the intrapersonal and social communication skills I use today. As a child playing basketball was my favorite activity or hobby. It's also the way I met a lot of my good friends that I have now. All my close friends I have met. I have met them through playing basketball. Whether they were on my team, the opposing team or just fans in the crowd who admired my play. Not only has basketball helped me gain friends, but basketball also taught me a lot about life. There are many aspects of life that coincide with basketball. For instance basketball is a team game and an individual game. Like in life you have to work together with other people. The communication skills I learned from basketball helped me communicate with friends, girlfriends, parents and bosses at work. I started playing basketball in the ninth grade. In the ninth grade I was a quiet and shy little boy. I rarely talked to my teammates and kept to myself. As the years went by I learned how to communicate with my teammates and my coaches and began to break out of my shell so to speak. In 11th grade I made the Long Island top 40 team. In the All-Star game I was named most valuable player scoring 15 points. AAU became a tremendous part of my life. I traveled to several states and began to train with one of the best trainers on Long Island, Jerry Powell. I started making more and more friends while playing AAU basketball. Basketball helped me meet a lot of new people. Without basketball in my life I don't know what I would do, growing up in a tough neighborhood in New York. My journey began in ninth grade. I remember my first day of basketball tryouts like it was yesterday. Fearful anxiety coursed through my blood stream as my pounding heart beat like a drum through my chest. Tireless sweat and preparation leading only to self doubt. I would not make it, I could not make it, and I had no right! I felt slow and unable to stand up my feeble body…

I’ve been intrigued by the sport of basketball since I was five. At this age, my parents shared with me that my cousin, Suzie was an Olympic Champion in basketball. With her petite, 5’4 stature, she was compelled to practice and hustle intensely, and she did. People may think that basketball is only a game, but it’s way more than that. It teaches sportsmanship and character. It causes you to persevere and never go down easy. Even though society may think basketball only helps physical development, it has taught me way more and shaped who I am…

I played basketball through middle and high school, but I learned quickly that college basketball was not my next step. I loved being around my teammates and always filling them up with laughter and joy. When it was game time, I was always there to cheer them on, even when they needed encouragement for their mistakes in the game or if they felt like they were having the worse game ever. I love the game of basketball because it keeps everyone on the edge of their seats with every shot that goes in, every foul that is call, and especially when a player dunks. Unfortunately, in high school girls could not dunk, but it was always enjoyable to watch them play. I also have the experience of being a physical trainer for my high school football team…

Basketball in my opinion the best thing I can do with my friends to have fun while burning a few calories. I see basketball as a fun and easy way to have fun rather than playing video games or watching television. I prefer to have others to play with rather than just playing alone. To me there is not only one word that I can describe basketball. You meet tons of people and you are able to play with your friends. One thing I love about basketball is that people have many different styles of play. There are styles such as a passer, playmaker, shooter, defensive player, and dunker or highflyer. When you play basketball you feel much more confident and makes you not care much about how others think about you. When I possess the ball in basketball I have the mentality of being the best and no one could stop me.…
