The team went on through the season & finished 66-16 a huge difference from the previous season which they went
56-26. They continued on through the playoffs beating the Baltimore Bullets 3-0 for the NBA Finals title. That year later down the line he was label the most valuable player (MVP).
During off season Lewis Alcindor Jr. converted to the nation of Islam & changed his name to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar which means “noble, powerful servant”. Later in the year of 1974 Kareem led the Bucks to the NBA finals. They were put out by the Boston Celtics.
Later during an interview in Milwaukee Kareem said that his off court life in that state his life was boring he felt as though he was a slave for the team. He said "No, I guess you could say I exist in Milwaukee. I am a soldier hired for service and I will perform that service well. Basketball has given me a good life, but this town has nothing to do with my roots. There's no common ground."
