Kate The Great Character Analysis

Kate the Great by Meg Cabot makes you realize that growing up is a challenge.
Jenny gets to babysit Molly for the first time and Jenny is being annoying by bothering her and the baby Molly. Jenny is having a good time and drinking coke, she feels relaxed because her mom doesn't let her drink soda because of all the calories. Then she hears a knock on the door, she thinks it's Mrs. Weinman who may have forgot something but when she opens it, it's Kate and she doesn't look surprised that they chose her. Jenny gets red and nervous because Mrs. Weinman told her to not have her over, Kate comes in like she owns the place, sits down, changes the channel and puts up the volume. It wakes up Molly and she starts crying. Jenny starts begging for Kate to leave because she woke up the baby so she tells Kate “Mrs. Weinman doesn't want, um, people to come over while they're out” (Cabot, 33) and Jenny says that to not be rude. Now Kate wants Jenny to go downtown with her and Patrick to get blizzards but Jenny doesn't wanna go because one, she can't go downtown without an adult and two she needs to watch Molly. Kate then comes up with a plan and says “The Whine-mans left a number right? Call them and tell them that Molly is sick. Then they’ll come home, and we all can go downtown.” (Cabot, 35). Kate is
