Katniss' Relationships in the Hunger Games Book

Katniss knows how to take care of herself she is always caring for others as a parent. In Katniss’ life her family and friends come first. Katniss doesn't have anger built up against anyone and treats everyone with love.

In the game Rue also showed an interest in her. Rue knew she could trust her because of her Mockingjay pin Katniss wore on her chest. Rue helped Katniss in many ways like the healing of her tracker jacker stings, what Rue did reminds Katniss of her sister Primrose because of her healing skill. Katniss was so upset how to the game makers Rue was just a game piece and didn't care when she died, so Katniss payed respect by covering her in flowers and giving her a proper funeral. Rue and Katniss really had a sisterly bond.

Peeta: peeta and katniss had a love hate relationship with peeta, peeta always had a crush on katniss, but katniss never noticed peeta until he gave her a loaf of bread, because of peetas actions katniss now feels like she owes him. During the games katniss pretends to be in love with peeta to gain favour from the audience. after the games katniss still cares about peeta

Prim: Primrose Everdeen is the only reason Katniss wakes up each morning, to provide for her and make sure she is taken care of. Katniss basic raised Prim after her father died. Katniss said that Prim is the only person she is certain she loves ,“Prim is the only person i'm certain I love”. Katniss relationship with Prim shows the readers the she can be loving and caring. She will do anything to protect her sister "I protect Prim in every way I can, but I'm powerless against the reaping" (1.63). Katniss will fight till the death to protect her sister providing tesserae for her family and not allowing Prim to apply for any, and even volunteering as tribute to protect her sister

Gale: Gale Hawthorne is Katniss hunting partner, best-friend and brother he is someone she can turn to when she’s in need.

Ralph, Piggy, Simon, and SamnEric were allies throughout the story until Simon passed away and SamnEric were kidnapped.
