Kenya Case Study

Kenya is a LEDC (less economically developed country) which uses tourism as a way to develop, and today tourism is its major growth industry. Kenya is located in eastern Africa and borders the Indian Ocean. Its bordering countries are Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda and Tanzania. Kenya lies on the equator. Its capital city is Nairobi.

Why is Kenya popular with tourists especially those from European countries like France and the UK?
This is because of the climate of Kenya which is dry and warm and is a change for the French and British tourists. Also, the British and French tourists enjoy the wildlife and the desert, and outdoor activities such as hiking and climbing mountains.

The Benefits brought by tourism to Kenya: Tourism brings many benefits to LEDCs such as Kenya. Tourism is the leading industry in Kenya and is very
