Key Bridge Foundation Case Study
Our primary audience is the Key Bridge Foundation, specifically Dana Coles and Connie Pulliam who are the co-directors of the community conferencing program at the Key Bridge Foundation. The Key Bridge Foundation is interested in helping to resolve as many student conflicts in schools as possible by having the school refer students to them and providing those students with a space to talk. This expansion requires money which the foundation obtains through donations received on their website. Surveys have shown that an organization’s mission statement is an important factor for potential donors. The Key Bridge Foundation would benefit from having a video that sells its mission to donors and makes them feel that they are contributing to something that works. Similar organizations also used two 10-minute videos to inform its visitors about its mission statement. We hope that this will help the Key Bridge Foundation reach a certain target amount in donations in order to continue providing their service and also to potentially expand to other locations. These administrators are responsible for deciding whether or not they want to utilize the services offered by the Key Bridge Foundation and will most likely do research on the Key Bridge Foundation website. The current challenges facing United Way were raising money to pay for general operational cost, recruiting and keeping fundraisers, and when celebrities donate large amount discourage others that may not be able to afford to give that much charity. Another challenge United Way was facing was that people who donated wanted to know where or what their money were used for. This opposed a challenge because United Way were not a charity that had one single focus like those that focused their attentions on one disaster, for example, 9/11 or Katrina. Key issues in the general and non-profit charitable giving industry environments that affect United Way’s operations are that trends have taken place where donations have declined over the years. Charities have fallen by 11 percent and represent the worst declined in 20 years.…

It was about two different groups of volunteers who attended, and we supported with handing out food to the people who need it. Has a community, we cannot just sit at home and act like the things that are occurring in the society does not affect us as well. Helping the people the community and seeing how some people need these kinds of organizations shows that we as a community are doing the job. The people are part of the society, and as a college student in the Public Administration field, it showed me that to move ahead as a society we have to carry everybody along. Also, by providing these resources, it keeps many of these people out of the street; and it makes the community improve as a whole. After seeing how this organization helps the community and also hearing what people say that we the society are not helping the poor, I believe that it is…

    1. With the recent downturn of the economy, some people can relate more to the needs of others. This has change the outlook of most when it comes to community service or giving back. It seems that people get a heartwarming feeling to know that they are “shopping for a cause” with that mindset that a portion of their money for a $200 pair of shoes is going to a greater cause. For instance, I recently purchased a pair of TOMS from Nordstorm. Once I left I felt really good to know that my purchase was going to give a child in another country a pair of shoes and help Nordstorn with their social responsibilities. This feeling was achieved with just one simple purchase and minimum effort which is what this company is trying to promote.…

One of the main things I realized from the video and class discussion was that helping better the education and accommodations for students with disabilities is a job for every educator. The video helped me relate the information to my own life by making me realize one major flaw that I failed to see in myself was thinking that because I am not a special education major it is not as important for me to help take the necessary steps to better the educational need of those with disabilities. After watching the Willowbrook video I realized that much of the problem with what happened may have begun with people who looked the other way because they thought it was of no concern of theirs. The images and video really helped me grasp the realness of what happened. It was truly something I had to see to believe. I think it related to the course information by really opening students eyes and making us want to learn more and do more to make things better for those with disabilities.…
