homophobic, xenophobic person. Once you label someone that, their views are automatically turned into a punchline and he is written off as some sort of racist lunatic. The conversation is over and the name caller can bask in the glory of uncovering another “nationalistic white supremacist.” Take for example, if I say white privilege is an excuse. I am then labeled a racist. End of conversation. Name calling is nasty tactic and it is wrong. I am not offended by the use of these terms I am simply offended that I can no longer share my opinions without fear of being labeled a racist. So who's really killing the conversation on college in college classrooms.
That's just one example of the bias I've seen in the paper.
I think the reason you have trouble finding conservative voices for your paper isn't because there aren't any large groups, your problem is conservatives do not generally go around promoting their political views. We don't march and we don't stand on tables with bull horns. We are the silent majority on campus. I hope that others that feel the same way and will step up and voice their opinions alongside me. I plead with the newspaper staff not to give up on looking for pieces from different points of view. I enjoy most of the articles in the paper, even if I don't always agree with what they say, as they are always thought provoking. I just hope to see more written from a different point of view in the
future.
